Another Way Out. Regulus x reader

Part 1.5

After I went back to my dorm I started pacing back and forth trying to come up with what I could say to apologize to Regulus.

I felt really bad because of what I said and I wanted to make it up to him.

As I passed back and forth though, I realized that just my words would probably not get him to forgive what I said.

As I continued to struggle coming up with any solution I fell onto my bed and groaned.

How could he ever forgive me for using his abusive family against him in an argument. He hadn't even spoken to me about it himself yet!

I decided to curl up on my bed and hug my stuffed animal. It was a crow that my mom made for me when I was a baby.
Then it hit me.
What if I made him something?

I quickly hopped off bed and went through my drawers trying to find anything that I could hopefully use to make him something.

As I went through my drawer I found an old black shirt, some socks that didn't have any pairs, a sewing kit, and some bandannas that I had when I went through my bandanna headband phase.

I looked at everything and tried to figure out what I could do with all of this.
Then it hit me like a ton of bricks.
I could make him a stuffed animal.

they weren't that hard to make and since I would make it, it was more special.
So I decided to get to work.

I used the scissors in the sewing kit to cut out eight large Pieces from the black shirt. I then cut a few small triangles from my pink bandanna. I then shredded the socks until they were just a bunch of singular fibers. I then assembled the black pieces into a cat shape and started to sew it up. Once I had most of it sewn I put the sock fibers into the body, head, and limbs. I finished sewing it up and then I tore a black strip from the shirt and made it into the tail. Once I attached the tail I made some black triangles which I sewed onto two pink bandanna Pieces and made into the ears. After I put on the ears I sewed the final pink triangle onto the face to make the mouth. I was almost done when I realized I needed eyes so I went to one of my old button-up shirts that didn't fit me anymore and I took two of the buttons off and sewed onto the cat.

After I finished making it I felt pretty proud of how it turned out and I decided it was perfect to give to him.

I just had to wait for potions class tomorrow.

I made sure to get to potions early today so that I could give Regulus the cat that I had made yesterday.

I had the cat tucked away into my bag for when he arrived at class.

I watched the door and waited for Regulus to come in.

As soon as he walked in the door my heart started to race. I was incredibly nervous for him to come over.
What if he didn't like the gift?!?

As I waited for him to walk over I watched him quickly stop to talk to Marlene who after talking to him started to walk over to me.

She sat down next to me and started to take out her books.

Did Regulus just change seats to not sit next to me?
But how am I going to say sorry?

After that, I couldn't pay attention in class and I almost made our potion blow up.

I waited for after class to go and talk to him. I quickly packed up my bags and headed to Regulus as fast as possible.

When I got to him I tried to say something but he immediately started talking.

"Y/n. I don't want to talk to you. I thought I made that pretty clear when I didn't sit next to you"
When he said that my mouth went dry and I couldn't even muster up any of what I had planned to say.

I just stood there as he left.
What am I going to do?
He won't listen to me.

All I want this to make things right and I can't even do that. I know what I did was wrong but shouldn't I be able to say sorry?

Yes. I should say sorry, it doesn't matter if he wants to hear me say it or not, it is the right thing to do.
After I decided this I began to run after Regulus.

I knew he would be heading back to his dorm since it was free period so he couldn't have gone far.

As soon as I stepped outside though I heard Regulus say the password to open up to the Slytherin common room and walk in.

I tried running after him but the door closed before I could.
Damn it.
How was I going to see him if I couldn't get into the common room?

If I wanted to talk to him I would have to go into his dorm, there was no other time during the day that I saw him other than meals. And I couldn't give him a stuffed animal in front of the whole school or else they would misinterpret what that meant.

In order to do this I would need some sort of plan though since I technically couldn't go into their common room.

First I would need to know the password to open up the door. Then I would need to cast some sort of invisibility spell so nobody would see me.

The hardest part was figuring out the password.
So I decided to hide around a corner and listen to see if I could hear anyone use the password.

After almost twenty minutes of waiting, I was going to give up when I saw two Slytherin boys begin walking to the wall.

They were laughing very loudly about something that happened in DADA class.

"No, I swear, instead of using the counter spell he used a. Pure-blood. Color changing spell" one of the boys said as the door opened.

Seriously, pure-blood! That's the password!
How pretentious are these people!

Anyway, I can't go in now because there are going to be too many people in the common room since it is a free period so I will have to wait for dinner, regulus never goes to dinner.

Why had I noticed that?

I quickly ran back to the common room and I looked through my spell book for any invisibility spells but unfortunately, those kinds of spells were a little too advanced for my year so they weren't in the book.
I decided there was only one place I could go.
James.

"James please I promise I will give it back by the end of today. I just really need it" I pleaded to James as we walked through the halls to his next class.

"Look, y/n, I can't give it to you if you won't tell me what you need it for," he said plainly.

"James I can't tell you what I need it for but I swear it is for a good reason," I said quickly since we were right outside of his class.

James looked and me then sighed.
" fine," he said "just promise me you will give it back"
"Of course" I interrupted.

" I wasn't done. You also need to make up with Sirius" he said.
Are you kidding me, it's not me who is the problem. He is the one who is not forgiving me. But of course, I will literally do anything to borrow his invisibility cloak.

"Fine. Now can I use it?" I said flatly.
" yes, it's on my dresser in my dorm. Just please be careful with it" he said sternly so I knew he was serious.

" of course, thank you so much James" I squealed as I ran back to the dorms.
I was going to have an interesting night tonight.
