Another Way Out. Regulus x reader

Part 1.3

About an hour into our studying, I found something very interesting in the book.
"Hey Regulus, look at this. There's apparently something similar to a werewolf but it's something a wizard can choose to do to be able to transform into."

Regulus looked at me, then down at my book.
" An animagus?" He read raising an eyebrow.
"What does this have to do with werewolves?" he asked.

"Well, werewolves aren't able to control themselves which is why they take Wolfsbane, but people who choose to be animagus have more control over their brain," I explained, genuinely curious about the topic.

"What does this have to do with the Wolfsbane potion?" he asked, obviously not as curious about the topic as I was.
"Well, nothing. But it's still interesting," I answered in a less enthusiastic way.

"Just continue reading y/n," Regulus said as he put his hand on my head and turned it towards the book.
As soon as he tried moving his hand away I felt a sharp pain as his ring got stuck in my hair.
"Ow!" I yelped as he tugged a bit.

" Oh, I'm so sorry," he apologized, with a worried expression on his face.
As we tried untangling his hand from my hair, I put my hand on his hand to stop him from tugging.
As soon as I did this, I heard a slight gasp from behind me.

I turned around slightly so my hair wouldn't be tugged more my face went pale.
Sirius.
"What the fuck are you two doing?!" Sirius yelled, causing some nearby students to shush him.
"I swear Sirius, this is not what it looks like," I said quickly trying to get him to hear me out.

"Oh really? Well it looks like you said you were going to study in the library, but you're actually snogging my brother," Sirius said, hurt.

Regulus, who had worked out how to free his hand, quickly defended me.

"We were doing no such thing. I would never do something like that with her."
Ouch.

"Shut it Regulus! You have no right talking to me about anything regarding me and my friends," Sirius snapped, causing Regulus to stand up.

"What's that supposed to mean?" Regulus asked, getting angry.
"You know exactly what I mean! Just because 'mommy' and 'daddy' say that the people I associate with are bad, you go along with it! You are just like them!" Sirius yelled, causing other people in the library to start looking at the argument taking place.
Regulus froze. His eyes widened and he almost looked like he was either going to start punching Sirius or cry. Maybe both.

Suddenly Sirius grabbed my bag and my arm and started to drag me out of the library.
I didn't fight back because I knew that if I did it would only make this whole situation worse.

"What the fuck were you and my brother doing in the library y/n?!" Sirius yelled as soon as we were in the common room.

Luckily only Lily and the Marauders were around.
"We were studying Sirius. Me and him have a project in potions that we needed to do research on." I pleaded back hoping he would listen to me.

" really. Then why was his hand in your hair y/n? Hmm. Can you explain that" he said in a mother-like way.

" yes. I can. He turned my head in the direction of the book because I was being annoying and his ring got stuck." I said pleading for him to believe.
"Sure. I definitely believe that" he said in an overly sarcastic tone.

"I'm serious" I yelled.
"I can't believe you would stoop as low as my bigoted brother. I thought you were smarter than that." He said turning and starting to walk away.

I was furious when he said this. So I went and grabbed his arm and started yelling at him.

" first of all, I am not lying. You just so happened to walk in at a very awkward time. And second, he isn't that bad. Yeah, he says some shitty things but when you really get to know him he isn't that bad."

"Thank you so much for explaining to me how MY brother is when you get to know him. Let me tell you something y/n. If you had to live with him you would know that he is just like my parents. He has the same values and everything, so if you for even one second believe that he will want to be with you. I hate to break it to you but you are sorely mistaken." Sirius said before he stalked off leaving me there with everyone staring at me.

As my eyes started to well up with tears Lily came over and puts her hand on my back.

"Are you okay," she says in a very sweet voice.
"Yeah. I uh, think I'm going to go to my dorm" I sobbed before running up to my room and falling on my bed hoping nobody would hear me cry.

Since I didn't want to have to go to dinner and see Sirius I decided to use the excuse of homework and stay in my dorm.

I decided to actually do research on animagus since I wouldn't be able to when with regulus.
What I found out was very interesting.

In order to become an animagus you had to follow a five-step process. This process is incredibly difficult and technically illegal if you decide to not register with the ministry.

The process not only being difficult but also takes over a month to complete assuming you have done it correctly. Not only that but if your first transformation goes wrong you could potentially be stuck in your animagus form forever.

The process consisted of holding a mandrake leaf in your mouth for one month, from full moon to full moon.

Then you have to make a potion. This is done by spitting the leaf into a phial in range of the moon's beams. Then you with dew that hasn't been touched by daylight and human flesh, a piece of your hair, and the chrysalis of a dead head moth.

After it has been made you have to store it in a quiet, dark place until an electric storm.

As you wait for the storm you have to every sunrise and sunset put your wand to your heart and say:

Amato
Animo
Animato
Animagus

Then on the day of an electrical storm, you drink the potion and go through the transformation.
Apparently, the transformation is incredibly scary and painful.

This being said, if the person changing freaks out too much they could possibly be stuck in that form forever or they could become a half-human half-animal being.

In order to do this you have to be incredibly skilled at potions and transfiguration.

In all the process sounds incredibly taxing to go through just so you can turn into an animal on command.

Although I do wonder what I would turn into.
