Later the Library, Mayumi exit a computer room then she spotted Tatsuya
"Oh, it's you, Tatsuya." Mayumi said, "What are you doing here?" she asked
"I've come to gather materials for the Thesis Competition." Tatsuya said
"Now that you mention it, you were chosen to help out Rin-chan." Mayumi said, "I know it happened suddenly for you, Tatsuya, but for Rin-chan, the significance of this year's theme goes way beyond winning or losing the competition, so I'm counting on you!" she said
"Right." Tatsuya said, "So does Ms. Ichihara have some kind of special motivation to pursue this topic?" he asked
"To raise magicians' social standing." Mayumi said, "By turning magic into an indispensable economic factor, magicians will truly be released from their fate as weaponized humans." she said, "The Gravity Control-type Magic thermonuclear fusion reactor will go a long way towards achieving that..." she said, "At least, that's what Rin-chan's always claimed." she said, "With this year's thesis, she'll be taking her first concrete step." she said
"It astounded me." Tatsuya said, "That Ms. Ichihara could be thinking the same exact thing as myself and my cousin." he said
"You, too, Tatsuya?" Mayumi asked
"I never thought there'd be someone else right here with such a negative outlook." Tatsuya said,
"Well, good for you. For finding chemistry with Rin-chan." Mayumi said, "You better not be cheating on A-Chan." she said
"I'm not." Tatsuya said
"Well, I will leave you to it." Mayumi said then leave
Later at night
Tatsuya was working on his computer when it was hacked, and he began to repel the hackers
"Too close." Tatsuya said
The Next Day
Tatsuya went to the Counseling Room to tell Haruka
"But as my contention was cut off midway... I wasn't able to find the source of the attack." Tatsuya said
"And?" Haruka asked, "I hate to break this to you, but I can't trace them over the network." she said
"I'm well aware of what you specialize in." Tatsuya said, "I don't intend to create that much extra work for you." he said
"Then what do you want?" Haruka asked
"I was wondering if you could tell me what you know about the organization that's been buying and selling classified magic documents lately." Tatsuya said
"Listen to me, Shiba." Haruka said, "You do know that I'm bound by confidentiality myself, don't you?" she asked
"Certainly." Tatsuya said Haruka just sigh
"From the end of last month to the beginning of this month, there's been a series of unlawful entry cases in Yokohama and Yokosuka." Haruka said
"And that can't be unrelated... is that what you're saying?" Tatsuya asked
