At the training ground at the back of the Hotel, Leo holds out the new Weaponized-Integrated CAD with Aichi watching with their jacket off

"All right, ready to start?" Aichi asked

"Roger!" Leo said, "Here goes!" he said then start using his magic, he pulls the trigger activating the CAD then the blade spite in half and the upper blade floats up "It's really floating up there!" he said, "This is so cool!" he said he swings the blade and the floating blade follow the motion

"3... 2... 1... Zero!" Aichi said

"Whoa." Leo said as the blades reconnect "I'd totally call that a success, Aichi!" he said giving Aichi a thumb up "So Fortifying Magic works even when it's not physically connected..." he said

"Fortifying Magic is defined by how it stabilizes relative positions." Aichi said, "There's no need for objects to be in contact." he said, "The way this device works is probably more like extending than flinging out." he said, "Since there's nothing in the middle, it will only move along the extended length of the sword." he said

"It feels the same as if I were swinging a really long sword." Leo said, "That helps because it keeps me from over-thinking." he said

"All right, the next step is a live test." Aichi said then straw training dummies came out of the ground, Leo active the CAD again as the straw training dummies moved toward him then Leo ran toward the straw training dummies and start swinging after beating three, he went after more

The Next Day, earlier in the morning, on the 5th of August, 2095, the Third Day of the Nine Schools Competition

Honoka is out jogging

'Miyuki's overall abilities are overwhelming, and Shizuku can brute-force her way through magic spells.' Honoka thought, 'If I'm going to catch up to them, I'll have to train twice as hard!' she thought

"Honoka!" Izuku said as he, his brothers, and Tatsuya are out jogging as well

"Bell, Izuku, Aichi, Tatsuya?" Honoka said

"We're going on ahead." Aichi said

"Okay." Izuku said as he stops next to Honoka while Aichi, Bell, and Tatsuya ran ahead "I see you're starting really early to train." he said then Izuku helped hold Honoka's legs as she does sits up

"S-Sorry... to make you help me out." Honoka said

"Don't worry about it." Izuku said, "But I'm impressed." he said, "You're not dialing down you're training even in the middle of the competition." he said

"Well, I feel as though I'll get rusty if I take off even one day." Honoka said

"That's the right mindset to have." Izuku said, "The events you're competing in... Battle Board and Mirage Bat... call for physical balance control as much as magic power." he said, "It's important that you keep this up to maintain your current condition for your Rookie Events." he said

"R-Right!" Honoka said then she pulls herself up then realized she was really close to Izuku's face 'His face is so close.' she thought, 'Wh-Wh-What am I going to do?' he thought, 'Izuku's going to hear my heart pounding!' she thought
