"So that's Imani--"

"That's Imani..."

"She's gorgeous," Noah says.

"Watch it," Dixon warns.

"What?" Noah chuckles.

"You're married," Dixon points out.

"Does that make her any less gorgeous?"

"It makes you married," Dixon says again, completely done with this line of conversation.

They're walking down the street and crossing the road to a little flower shop where Dixon is getting a few things for his mother's birthday. He already got her an old-school karaoke machine earlier in the week. She's been jonesing for one for a while now.

He could easily get people to do this for him, but when it comes to his family, he likes to do such things himself. He even put his ever ringing phone on silent since he left the office.

"Well, I get now why everyone is up in arms about her. They wouldn't give two shits if she didn't look like that," Noah says.

Dixon knows Imani is beautiful. He's known it from the second he laid eyes on her that first day in his suite. That's the whole reason behind this mistrust between the two of them.

Beautiful women are everywhere, but this one turned out to be sharp and smart, not to mention incredibly talented, hardworking, and fearless, which he really admires about her. So what's a woman like that doing cleaning his suite?

Those who saw her while she was there felt the same, including Lana. She theorized that Imani was definitely a con artist and ran with it telling anyone who would listen.

"Piece of advice though, if you're going to openly flirt with her like that and invite her to events you never even show up to, then I highly recommend getting a protection detail on her."

"That's the plan," Dixon responds, "It's easy enough in the city. It's just where she currently lives that's tricky."

"Get her a place in the city. You can afford it. Your accession to president of the company is about to be announced any day now. You have an even bigger target on your back, you know that."

"She would never let me get her a place, that I know for sure," Dixon tries to explain, "I don't think she'd even still be working for me if she wasn't desperate."

Theirs is a very complicated situationship. He doesn't think she even likes him much, and he was pleasantly surprised when she kissed him back the other day and even more surprised when she went for his belt a few days ago...

She never gave any indication of being attracted to him in any way. Quite the opposite, actually. She always had this disdainful approach to him and always acted like she was repulsed by him.

It used to piss him off to no end.

Also, it threw out that whole theory of her being a trick. She really just wanted to work and go home, but she didn't even want to look at him.

It forced him to change his whole perspective of her... and maybe even life. She was proof to him that maybe in some corners of the world, there are people who are who they say they are.

Some people just do not have hidden agendas.

"Would you just let me run a background check on her already?" Noah asks again. The first time he asked was when he heard that Dixon almost beat Michael to a pulp because of some comments he made about her and a strip club.
