"Tony, we have to go we can't just-" I squealed as Tony grabbed my waist, pulling me back down onto the bed. "Stop it, you'll get my clothes wrinkled!"

"Come on, Peg, let's just stay in bed today. Kids kept me up all night. Plus, you should be resting too. You're growing a baby in there!" The man grumbled, rubbing the tiny bump I'd started to get.

"No, come on, we're doing paperwork today. If you actually cooperate we should be able to be back by dinner." I pushed Tony's chest, struggling to get out of his grip.

"Ugh, paperwork. Can't we just get it sent here? Why do we have to go all the way to Cali to do it?"

"Cause it's a formal event, Tony. We need to be at the company in person. I've already been putting this off for weeks for of your health, we can't just cancel!"

I watched as Tony rolled onto his back, groaning in annoyance as he finally let me lose.

"Yeah, yeah. I've got Happy coming by to check on the kids around time for lunch, so we won't have to worry about them much. Other than that, I think they'll both be okay."

"Yeah, Happy's watching them, great, hey, why don't we go to that one dinner place you love? The one, what was it, that sushi joint?"

"Tony, I'm pregnant. I can't have sushi." I crossed my arms over my chest.

"Oh. Right."

"Yeah. Now come on, get your ass up, and get moving! We're leaving in ten minutes!"

I quickly walked out of the room, heading towards the kitchen to make myself some coffee when Harley and Morgan both ran up from the basement lab, talking in hushed voices.

"What are you two plotting?" I asked, glancing at them from over my shoulder.

"Nothing!" They both shouted, making me chuckle.

"Alright, alright, as long as it won't get anyone hurt or killed, I won't ask. Just make sure you show me when you're done being evil geniuses."

"Alright!" I laughed again as they sat at the kitchen island.

"You and Dad are going to California for work stuff today, right?" Morgan asked, she and Harley finally halting their conversation.

"Yeah. We'll hopefully be back by dinner, though. It shouldn't take too long, but Happy is stopping by during lunch to check on you two for us."

"Okay," Harley spoke, both kids nodding their heads.

Not long after I made sure both kids had eaten breakfast and I had had at least a sip of coffee, Tony came barreling down the stairs, fiddling with his jacket's sleeves as he placed chase kiss's on the kids' foreheads, grabbing the coffee I held out for him.

"I didn't realize it was so late, Peg, you should have woken me up earlier. I don't want you being late because of me." He stressed, and I found it amusing how he only cared about being late because of me.

"Tony, hun, we're doing fine on time." I placed a reassuring hand on his back.

"But we're supposed to be there in about three hours and it takes four to get there."

"Well..." I started, causing everyone's eyes to shoot at me. "We're actually not supposed to be there until three."

"It's nine right now."

"Mhm." I nodded in agreement, looking up at the man through the top of my coffee mug.

"Avery."

"Yes, hun?"

"Did you tell me a different meeting time so I would get ready faster?"

"I did."

Out of the corner of my eye, I could see Harley and Morgan looking back and forth between us, obviously curious about how the interaction was going to continue.

"God. See, this is why I'm marrying you. You know me so well." Tony leaned in and kissed me, pulling away only to kiss my hairline as he wrapped his free arm around my waist.

"That wasn't how I thought it was going to go," Harley mumbled to Morgan, who just shrugged her shoulders before looking down at her phone.

"How did you think it was going to go?" Tony asked, sipping his coffee.

"I don't know, but I expected a bit of yelling." The kid shrugged, causing Tony to almost choke on his drink.

"Why would you think that, hun?" I moved to stand across from the boy, placing my free right hand on top of his left.

"I don't know." He mumbled, staring down at our joint hands.

I took a breath, looking back toward Tony, who only shrugged his shoulders. Rolling my eyes, I turned back to Harley, squeezing his hand a bit before pulling away.

"Alright. Well, Tony and I should get going. We'll text you both when we land, just to check in." I moved to the other side of the island, kissing both kids' heads. "Love you both."

"Love you too." They both responded as Tony copied my actions, following me to the garage door.

"You think they'll be okay? I don't think we've been away from them for this long before."

"Peg, hun, they'll be fine. There teenagers, they'll probably just be on their phones all day." Tony shrugged off.

"Yeah, yeah, okay." I nodded.

Later that day we would find out that Morgan and Harley accidentally set a bit of the basement workshop on fire.
