People say falling in love is a very idiotic deed. That the ones who fall are the stupidest of the stupids. And that everything should be a give and take relationship.
But I believe, love is much more wonderful and beautiful than that. That love, is a feeling of giving and not expecting to receive anything in return. That's the beauty of love. And about the part where it hurts? Well....
Is it even love if it doesn't hurt?
"You should eat something bhabhi. I am sure bhai must have forgotten about the call and must have had his dinner already. why are you sitting here, hungry, for him then?" The sweet girl said to me, making me sigh.
(Bhabhi- sister in law. Bhai- brother)Dhara Mahajan is more than a sister in law to me. She is like the sister I never had. And I can't be grateful enough for that.
The girl is a ray of sunshine in my life. Ever since I got married three years ago to my then boyfriend of two years, this person has never changed. She was my biggest supporter and teddy bear, and she still is.
"I know Dhara. But I can't help and feel like a bad wife if I just eat without making sure he has eaten something." I sighed, stood up from the dinning table chair, and walked towards the couch she was sitting on.
With phone in her one hand and a pen in the other, and a book lying on her lap, she was doing some calculations. The pressure of college is not much, but it is not small as well.
And I understand this very well. I didn't made it into the 'top ten interior designers of Asia' by doing nothing!
I sat down besides her and she was quick to shut her books to give me her whole, undevided attention. I smiled at her attempt and sat in that Indian cross leg position.
"So, tell me about your day. We can have a heart to heart until bhai finally remembers that he has a wife who's waiting for his call. A beautiful wife." Dhara said and that made me chuckle. She knows exactly what to say and when to say.
"Well...we sure can do that. So my day started normal, until I realised it was one of the biggest days of my life." I told her and saw the excitement grow on her face.
"Cut the suspensse bhabhi! Tell me the juiciest news!" She shrieked and I laughed fully this time.
"Well....your bhabhi is nominated for the 'Best Interior Designer of the decade' award and the chances of me winning it are about ninty percent." As soon as the words left my mouth, the young girl in front of me screamed and hugged me tightly.
The whole moment melted my heart and I hugged her back, as she was still crushing me with her hug while muttering some proudful and encouraging words in my ears.
Oh how I wish Kartik should have been in India right now, for me to share this news with.
Alas! He's stuck in Mauritius for a meeting instead!
