"DAMN IT! HOW IS IT POSSIBLE THAT WE ARE NOT FINDING ANYTHING ON THOSE MEN! ARE YOU THAT USELESS!" I screamed at my team yet again. I was growing frustrated more and more by all this.

The young man who tried to save his family was now under my protection and was working on finding the people who tried to kidnap Maggie.

God, Maggie, I was growing so frustrated by all this that I had grown distant and cold towards her. I know it wasn't her fault but the only lead we had was that we had a mole on the inside, and it was getting pretty difficult to find out who it was. So I had confined Maggie in my room until we would have found the mole.

I know she would go and take her cast off today, and I couldn't believe it had already been three weeks.

So many things had happened, I could now say with certainty that I would die for her, I liked her so much, even if I wasn't showing it the right way.
I mean cmon it never happened to me to feel like that before.

The only thing I knew was that I ached to be with her again like we were before all this, because unfortunately I couldn't concentrate on her now, I had to find those guys.

"Capo!" I heard one of my guys say and I instantly turned to face him.

"We found the mole." he said, and something in my heart happened, I felt relived. I never had this much trouble to find people, usually we are the best at doing what we do and no-one can get under our radars this much, but now finding the mole was a victory. I would have to go and see Maggie afterwards to tell her the good news. But now, it was show time.

"Who is it?" I asked, and he walked me towards his desk, he turned his screen towards me, and all hell broke loose. Ivana Tachenko was the name under the picture, but the person on the picture was someone I had got to know under the name Isabelle. She was under my nose all this time. How could I be this dumb!

I ran towards her room, passing through endless corridors and going up many stairs and opened the door without a warning. She yelled in surprise, her face softening when she saw me but then growing worried when she saw me with my gun in hand, directly pointing to her head.

"Give me one good reason not to kill you right now." I tell her through gritted teeth, mad at myself to have become way softer than I used to be. Before, I would have killed her no questions asked.

"I- I couldn't go through with it. That is why I saved her, that is why I warned her." she started to say and she had tears running down her face.

"Jason, bring her downstairs now!" I tell him, he nodded and took a crying Isabelle downstairs.

I was passing my hand in my hair for the thousandth time today and I didn't even want to know what it looked like. Now that we knew who the mole was, I knew only one person that would calm my nerves.

I made my way towards my room and took a deep breath, I knew that she would probably be mad that I hadn't been present or even talked to her at all.

I didn't even sleep there anymore, I would just come during the night sneak beside her and hold her, she was always such a heavy sleeper that she never felt me come or go.

I knocked softly on the door, too softly for my liking. Waiting for a reply that never came I knocked again.

"Maggie?", no answer, and fear started to creep up my neck. I opened the door and saw the bed was made.

"Maggie?" I called again, and went to the bathroom, she wasn't there either. I went inside the room again and that's when I saw. My hoodie, the one she had borrowed a while ago, folded neatly on my bed. I immediately took it and smelled it, it smelled like her. Coconut and passion fruit. Something deep inside me dropped and I panicked.

"Maggie!" I yelled her name as I got out of the room, walking fast and looking everywhere for her. That's when I heard the front door close and ran to the foyer, but only saw Matteo.

"Matteo, have you seen-" I started.

"She left." Was all he said.

There those two simple words, right there, destroyed me. I lunged forward and grabbed his throat, holding him against the wall. I knew that if Matteo wanted he could totally get out of my death grip, but he only looked at me, with an expression that I had never seen before.

"Where is she Matteo!?" I asked him, and he stayed quiet.

"MATTEO I SWEAR TO GOD!" I was loosing all the little sanity I had left.

"I don't know." he said again, being calm, I looked into his eyes and let go of his throat. My own throat feeling like it was closing up on itself. I couldn't breathe.

"Enzo, breathe! C'mon." I heard Matteo say and bring me to my room as quickly as he could so that no-one would see me this weak. Last time I had a panic attack like that, my dad had been murdered.

"Here!" he said, handing me a glass of water, I would've preferred it to be scotch. I took it anyway and downed the glass all in one go.

"Where is she Matteo?" I asked again, beginning to feel exhausted.

"She told me that she had been enough a burden and that she was tired of being kept inside a room all day. She told me she was going to disappear and that she wanted us to go back to the way we were." he said, and I couldn't comprehend why he would help her so much.

"She asked me to take her to the airport, and before you ask, no I don't know where she flew off to. She said she didn't want to tell me so I wouldn't have to lie to my 'Capo'. Her words not mine." he continued, and I couldn't help but run my hands across my face.

"She said she was feeling heartbroken. She deserves to try and leave and hide and remake a new life for herself where people won't try to kill her and to find her. She was going crazy inside this room. I know all this is new, for you and even for me, but we failed her. We wanted to protect her so much that we completely disregarded her needs and her feelings." he said making sense, and also making my own heart break.

"Still you could have kept her here. She is safer here!" I got angry.

"She is not a prisoner Enzo! She was rotting in here like in a jail. Wake up, she probably got into all this crap because she was seen with you, with us. She deserved a way out. I wasn't going to be selfish and let her stay here." Matteo said, he was unpacking a lot of different emotions, I couldn't even keep up with my own.

"But- I-" I couldn't even form phrases correctly.

"I know you do. Right person wrong time I guess." was all he said as he sat next to me, even though I wanted to punch the life out of him for letting her leave, I couldn't. He was right, Maggie wasn't mine to lock up in a room only to keep her safe.

"We found the mole, it's Isabelle." I told him, looking out the window and taking the sweatshirt Maggie used to wear.

"Let's go get some informations then." Matteo said getting up.

"I'll get her back." I told myself, knowing that now all her moves, the way she kissed me, the way she smelled, her delicious perfume was forever in-printed in my mind and that there was no doubt that she would be mine again.

I promise you Maggie, wherever you are, that I will never break your heart again.
