THE HALLS of Mystic Falls High started brimming, pouring in with students from all classrooms once the bell rang. The chatter grew loud, and the sound of lockers opening and closing became apparent.
"Hey, Care. What's up?" Elena Gilbert greeted one of her oldest and bestest friends, simultaneously reaching for the books in her locker.

"Well, for one, my head is spinning from watching you and Stefan bicker throughout Mr Jeffery's class. And two, I'm still stuck on what to get Tyler for his birthday, which is so unlike me. Not to mention, classes have drained what little sanity I have to spare. How about you?" Caroline Forbes finished her mini rant of the day, smiling.
"Oh Gosh, Caroline. What torture you have been subjected to. Poor you. Besides, you're being a little dramatic. We talked for 10 minutes max." Elena defended, closing her locker.
"Babe, it took up majority of the class. 10 minutes is a little generous to yourself, don't you think? Anyway, tell me what to get Ty for his birthday or I will freak out." She said, whining.

"Okay, okay, jeez. Maybe cologne? Or a customised wallet, or something? But aren't you arranging that big birthday bash for him anyway? You're really going to buy something for him on top of that?" She asked, curious.
"Um, yeah? It's essential I buy something for him or I'll feel like I haven't done enough. Besides, I like buying him stuff. He's gone through a lot this past year." Caroline explained.
"You sure you two are just friends? Because, I'm seeing something else here." Elena said, giving her eyes, leaning back.
