Why should we study the Bible?

      I am going to be putting down some of the reasons why it is very important that we should study the bible.

1.  The word of God helps in cleansing our ways.
              "Where withal shall a young man cleanse his ways? by taking heed thereto according to thy word" Psalms 119:9

2.   The word of God will sanctify us. When we are exposed to the truth of the word, we will become separated from the world and it's false ideas and illusions. Our way of thinking, the way we see things and the way we do things shall be changed. The truth in God's word will sanctify us if we study and put it into practice in our lives.
           "Sanctify them through thy truth, thy word is truth" John 17:17

3.   The word of God will be our guide.
               "Thy word is a lamb unto my feet, and a light unto my path" Psalms 119:105

4.   Let us study to know the word of God, to understand the word of God and practice the word.
          "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth" 2Timothy 2:15

5.    Studying the word of God makes our Faith in God stronger.
          "So then  Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God" Romans 10:17

6. The word of God is given to provide sound doctrine, reproof, correction and instruction in Righteousness.
          "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness." 2Timothy 3:16

7.    The word of God assures us of God's promises to us.
          "For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower and bread to the eater: so shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return onto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it" Psalm 55:10-11

8.    The lord will bless and elevate us when we study and keep his commandments.
        "This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success" Joshua 1:8

      Also  In Psalms 1:1-3 and Deuteronomy 28:1-13 are the blessings God has in store for us when we study and obey his statutes.

        The word of God is precious. The word portrays his undying love for mankind.

Please my Bible is a King James version, so that's why my bible verses are in KJV. I know most of us are not used to studying with this version, but please bear with me. Whichever  one isn't clear to you, you can make use of other versions to understand it better.
