Tim drove to his house with Lucy after work, since they both finished earlier, they were home by 4:30 p.m.

"I am happy that you are spending the evening with me and Theo again today, although he was so dismissive last time" Tim smiled at Lucy, you could see how happy he was with her

"Of course, I know that he also needs his time, it will be fine." Lucy said and smiled

they sat down on the couch and enjoyed the time together, Lucy lay down in Tim's arm "I feel safe" She said

Shortly before 6 p.m. the doorbell rang, Tim went and opened it

"Hi dad, sorry i forgot my key. Noah is with me that's okay right?" He says and went into the house with Noah

Tim didn't have time to answer, because the two went straight in

"Hi Theo, nice to see you again" Lucy got up and walked towards the kitchen where she saw Theo and his friend

"Lucy this is Noah, Theo's best friend. Apparently he also wants to have lasagna with us today, right?"  Tim said looking confused, he didn't know that Theo had invited his friend

"Oh no it's okay, Theo and I just wanted to get a pizza later, I don't want to bother you." said Noah with a friendly smile

"Wait, pizza? Theo you knew that Lucy was coming today and we wanted to eat together." Tim asked his son

"Oh shit i forgot it, i'm sorry maybe next time then."

"Wait if it's okay, we don't necessarily have to get pizza, we can all eat together" Noah said
and Theo looked annoyed because he had actually hoped not to have dinner with his dad and Lucy

"Why not, can be a fun evening" Lucy said, She looked at Tim and shrugged

After Lucy and Tim had finished cooking the lasagne, all four sat at the table and began to eat

"It's really good!" Noah said

"Thank you, Noah!" Lucy smiled "So what did you guys did today after school?" She asked

"We were just at" Theo tried to say something but Noah interrupted him. "We wanted to drive to the city but then Nick from school got in" Noah couldn't finish speaking because Theo interrupted him this time

"Yeah he just said we shouldn't go to the city because there was some kind of protest and it was way too crowded" Theo lied because he didn't want his dad to know what happened

"Oh really? because there was no protest today" Tim said confused

"Weird" Theo tried to look confused "He probably lied to us"

After everyone finished eating, Theo and Noah brought the plates into the kitchen
"Bro are you seriously? You can't tell my dad what happened today he knows nothing about the whole situation." Theo told Noah

"Oh sorry dude, you don't have to worry anymore i'm going home now, see you tomorrow" Noah said and went home

"Thanks Theo for clearing it up, would you like dessert?" Lucy asked him, Theo just shook his head "Is everything okay Theo? You were so quiet while eating and it looked like something had happened" Lucy asked him, she knows he needs time but she's still trying to warm up to Theo somehow

"Lucy you are my dad's girlfriend and not my mom. Do what you want but just don't act like you care about me. You don't have to pretend anything here, I realize you don't really care, you're just doing it for my dad" Theo said with a very serious and annoyed voice

Lucy stood in the kitchen very confused, she was shocked that Theo said something like that to her "Theo, why do you think that? It's not just for your dad. If i want him in my life i have you too in my life and i want that. I want to get to know you better, try to understand you, I'm not your mother and I'm not trying to be either" Lucy explained him but Theo stopped listening to Lucy, he just went into his room

"What's wrong?" Tim walked into the kitchen and saw Lucy standing there looking sad and shocked. Lucy explained Tim what just happened with Theo

Tim didn't say anything and went straight to Theo's room. "Tim no, it's okay" Lucy tried to stop Tim because she didn't want to cause any more stress

"Theo what did you just said to Lucy?" Tim asked his son with a angry voice

"why do you just come into my room anyway it wasn't anything bad but rather the truth" Theo got up from his bed

"The truth? Lucy is always trying to somehow get you talking so you can get to know each other better, she's not trying to be your mother, she's just trying to get you to accept her. I told you before you don't have to be her best friend and stuff like that but you have to be respectful Theo! She hasn't done anything to you and I don't want you to talk to her like that" said tim very sternly hoping his son would understand

"Now it's all my fault? Maybe i was not ready to meet her? You didn't even care about me when it comes to Lucy, you just pushed me into it like that." Theo kept getting louder

"I did what? if you had said no, we would both have understood, but you went along with it and then you were just dismissive and disrespectful to Lucy"

Lucy just stood in the hallway, not really trying to listen. She didn't want it to escalate like that

"I don't wanna talk to you anymore go out of my room, go to your girlfriend who is so important to you in contrast to your own son." Theo said angrily "You know that's not true Theo" Tim said going out of his son's room, Theo just slammed the door

"I'm so sorry Lucy, I didn't want it to escalate like that, I was just shocked that he said that to you" Tim said to Lucy, you could see how sorry he was for what happened

"No it's okay Tim. Maybe it was a bad idea to come right back today, i have to give him more time. it would be better if we didn't meet at your place for the time being so that Theo could calm down first"

"Maybe you are right. I don't know why he should say something like that I never except that."

"I probably gonna drive home now, maybe it's better if you leave him alone today" Lucy said, she took her key and went towards the door

"Bye, See you tomorrow night at John's housewarming" Lucy said and they kissed "Get home safely, see you" Tim closed the door, cleaned up the kitchen but before Tim went to bed, he still went into Theo's room "Good night, sleep well" He knew Theo won't answer him But he doesn't like going to bed without saying good night to his son.
