13. The second task

-Y/n's pov-

I am now in the prefects bathroom, I get into the tub and I have the egg in my hands 'I must be out of my mind' I say and get under water. I open it and I hear singing

'Come seek us where our voices sound. We cannot sing above the ground. An hour long you'll have to look, to recover what we took.' I hear, I quickly get out of the water.

'yeah, it's obvious' she says 'there aren't Merpeople in the black lake are there?' I ask 'nope' Hermione answers

I am standing on the platform, Neville told me to use gillyweed 'Put that in your mouth.' Mad Eye says and I put the gillyweed in my mouth it's honestly disgusting.

'Welcome to the second task. Last night something was stolen from each of our champions. A treasure of sorts. These four treasures, one for each champion, now lie on the bottom of the black lake. In order to win each champion need only find their treasure and return to the surface. Simple enough. Except for this, they will have one hour to do so and one hour only. After that they'll be on their own.' Dumbledore says

Then everyone jumps into the water and I jump after them, I feel myself changing and suddenly I can breath underwater. I immediately start my search. I come across seaweed and I see Grindylows.

I then see Draco, Hermione, Cho and Fleur's sister. I then untie Draco's foot and swim up, as I am swimming up I see Cedric, so I speed up and I end up first.

We get out of the water and the others also come, now I notice that Fleur is on the side, panic shoots into me, that sister of hers. Krum is last 'and we have a winner!' I hear Dumbledore say 'wait!' I say and he looks at me

'Fleurs sister is still down there' I say and panic shoots into everybody. I look at the clock, 2 minutes. I jump into the water and swim down, I see her but the grindylows are all around her.

I swiftly move through them and use a spell on the rope on her ankle, letting her slowly go upwards, but then Grindylows surround me 'you've already taken one' one hisses and I try to fight them. I slowly drain from all my energy

'ascendio!' I shout with the last bit of strength, shooting myself upwards towards the air. I jump into the air and I hear people shout, I swim back to the platform and people run towards me, wrapping towels around e.

Fleur also runs up to me 'You saved her, even though she wasn't yours to save. My little sister!' she says and hugs me.

Suddenly Hermione appears out of nowhere 'Are you alright? You must be freezing! Personally I think you behaved admirably.' she says, puts a towel around me and hugs me, causing me to winch 'you've placed first' she says 'yeah..' I say.

'Attention! Attention! The winner is... Miss Potter! For an amazing act of kindness, not only saving her best friend Draco Malfoy, but also saving the sister of the not finished champion Fleur Delacour!' Dumbledore shouts as Hermione helps me up, people cheer for me

'And I award Mr. Diggory second place! For showing unique command of the bubblehead shark.' Dumbledore continues 'and on third place we have Viktor Krum!' Dumbledore finishes.

We're back on shore and Bartimus Crouch wants to talk to me 'Congratulations Potter, fine achievement. Well done. I'm sorry we haven't spoken, after all your story of managing to get into the WIzarding cup is one of a kind, I've heard many people talk about it. Quite remarkable.
