Both Mary Jane and Gwen prepared themselves for an answer. While the redhead had no problem with sharing, Gwen was confiding in the seemingly empty area

No other students were in sight, at least to their knowledge

So they both opened their mouths to talk. As they did, Glory and Betty stared in anticipation

But they found their eyes widening when a single name was heard, and not just from Mary Jane, but Gwen as well

"Y/N"

There was a moment of silence following the declaration. Gwen didn't even have to look to know all eyes were on her

"Well...That was unexpected"

Glory was the first to talk, while Betty crossed her arms

"I mean it was obvious, but I didn't think she would actually go for it"

Even Mary Jane herself found herself surprised by this, but it quickly sparked into something else. She turned to the blonde with a smirk

"That's a bold move, Stacy"

Anyone would've been intimidated by the look the redhead was giving her, but Gwen? She couldn't say that was the case anymore

The sudden revelation that prom was near served as a wake-up call for her to finally make a move. She had been focusing too much on the Spider-Woman side of things, it was time to focus on the Gwen Stacy side

And after hanging out with you yesterday (even if she couldn't remember part of it), she was pretty confident in her chances

"Well, maybe I got tired of being on the sidelines" She stated with the same tone as her friend

Betty let out a teasing "Oooooh!" While Glory just watched what happened. Too invested to step in

The redhead took notice of this and couldn't help but chuckle herself. Suddenly, she placed a hand on the wall behind Gwen as if to corner her

"Alright, hotshot, how about this..."

The band was startled by this change in behavior. This side of Mary Jane was one rare to them, even Gwen found herself taken back by this

"By the end of the week, Y/N will have a date for prom. Whether that's me or you depends on who hits the jackpot first"

Gwen's eyes went wide at this proposal

"Wait, really?"

Mary Jane just nodded with a confident smirk

"But here's the catch. You only get to ask once per day"

Finally, she stepped back to offer a hand to the blonde

"So, what do you say? You in?"

Gwen shut her mouth as she looked at her, then at her friends. Glory was shaking her head no, while Betty was nodding violently

With newfound confidence, the young Stacy shook her hand

"Bring it on, Watson"
