Chapter 8 ~ Now What?

"What does this mean? Did they have the other pieces of the map?" Jesse asked Jessica.

"Im not sure what it means, but they do just so happen to have the other two pieces to the map we received in the mail. We thought Aiden had sent us the map cause the letter that he had 'sent' us. Turns out, it wasn't from him (although he did mean it) and we asked him to come with us to figure this out because he said we wanted to redeem himself. We went to come back home and-"

She starred at Lukas and he looked away and it was silent for a minute, "I ran to into Cassie's home world portal because- I don't know what happened actually, it felt like I was being controlled like I was when PAMA had chipped me. I tried to stop myself from running but my legs just kept going. I could still think normally but it was just my body." Lukas said with his arms crossed.

Petra shivered next to me, "Eh, I don't like that. Being under PAMA's control was- awful." She said leaning back into her chair. "Is there a reason you might have done it?" Jack asked leaning up against the table.

He scratched the back of his head, "Uh- well. Maybe?" He said glancing at Jess. Jesse looked up at Jess who was still standing and she was just staring at the maps.

"I didn't get to properly apologize Cassie, I'm sorry for rushing in out of the blue." Lukas said looking at her. "Hey it's alright, i'm glad that I can finally get out of my world and have adventures again." She said smiling.

"I just don't understand this, I mean how are we supposed to know where this is?" Jessica said frustrated. Jesse thought for a minute until his face lit up. He pulled out the Atlas, "This!"

"Oh my gosh, Jesse that's probably the best idea you've ever had!" Jessica said, her face lighting up. Jesse gave her a look, then got up and handed her the book.

" Well, what now?" Petra asks. Jessica takes everything and puts it all in her inventory, "I don't know about you guys but I'm getting some sleep. Everyone is welcome to sleep here tonight, Cassie and Aiden I can show you guys to a room? Different ones of course."

They both nod and follow Jessica out of the door. Jesse stood up, look straight across the table with a straight face, and hand on the end the of the table,"Alright Lukas, why did you actually go after Cassie."

He leaned back into his seat, "Well Cassie had supposedly sent a letter to Jess which she ended up not sending and it said 'Look Out' and I just didn't want her to hurt Jess." He paused for a second, "But I wasn't lying when I said I was being controlled"

"Alright. Good to know." Jesse said pushing in his chair. Everyone else started to get up as well and they all walked out together and Jessica was walking back to the room to get them all to show them where to go.

"Jack, are you going to stay or are you going to head home?" Jessica asked him. "I'm just going to head home, Nurm would wonder where I would be if I weren't home. I'll see you guys later." He said waving and walking to the stair way.

"Wait!" Petra said before he left. He turned around and she hugged him and he hugged her back tightly. "I- Thank you Petra." He smiled and let go.

"Petra, are you good to sleep in my room?" Jessica asked. Her face lit up, "slumber party..?" she asked. "Slumber party." Jess smiled, Petra started  walking towards their room.

"Jesse and Lukas, you guys will have to share a room. If that's ok, there is 2 beds in there." Jessica said. "Yeah, that's alright with me." Lukas said looking at Jesse. He nodded and start walking with him to the room.

Petra and Jessica had put each others hair in braids and just talked about life. After about an hour, Petra was out like a light but Jessica was wide awake and Jessica wasn't able to sleep. She really thought she would be able to rest tonight but adventure cant wait for her to rest.

She made her way down to the kitchen and decided to make 2 pieces of toast. She hadn't eaten anything in a couple days and was hungry but she honestly don't have time to eat. She is always go, go, go.

She sat down on the island which had a perfect view over Beacon-town. She stared out the window while she ate her toast. "Couldn't sleep?" She heard a voice from behind.

Lukas.

"Oh yeah, you?" She asked him as he sat down next to her. "Haha, never. Your brother is quite a snorer." She snickered at his comment.

"He's always been like that. Glad I don't have to hear it much anymore." She said pushing away her plate which still had a piece left. They both stared out onto the town.

"Hey, I'm sorry about earlier today. I really don't know what happened and I just wanted to apologize." He said still looking out the window.

She looked at him and it took her a minute to say something, "We were able to get one of the pieces for the map at least." He looked over at me, "Yeah, I guess your right."

They both started at each-other for a good minute before either of then said anything. "Uhm- Do you want toast?" She asked, giving a cheesy smile. He laughed.

"Spilt it with me." He said and used the knife that she used to spread the butter to cut it. He took a piece and she took a piece and they clinked them together as if they were glasses.

They both took a bite while looking at each-other. They laughed at one another and Jessica held her stomach. Lukas felt a wave of heat flush over his face. 'Could I?- No it can't be right?' Lukas thought as he watched her laugh, he smiled because he rarely heard her laugh anymore.

"We should probably get some sleep, we have a long day ahead of us." He said. Jessica got up from the table and put her plate by the sink and walked over to the hallway. "If you aren't able to fall asleep with my brother, your welcome to sleep in the living room on the couch." She said still in the kitchen.

"Thank you Jess, Goodnight." He said smiling, still sitting on the island. "Goodnight Lukas, i'll see you in the morning." She said walking to her room and as soon as her head hit the pillow, She was out.
