Part 11: Looking for Katrina

2 days later, Katrina's still in her PJs, she felt like throwing up. She repeatedly listens to Gerry's 28 voice messages. Liar. Cheater. She thought to herself and she felt guilty as well that she somehow became a part of it.

But she couldn't lie to herself, she likes Gerry. He was funny and sweet, she remembered thinking that he was different from all the other guys she went out with but she was wrong. They're all just the same.

How could I be so stupid? She thought to herself. I gave my virginity to a guy I barely know when he took me to Greece. She buried herself in her pillows, she cried again knowing that she couldn't take anything back.

There was a knock on the door.

"Who is it?" She faintly said.

"Katrina, it's me." She knew it was Gerry's voice.

"What the hell are you doing here?" She asked.

"We need to talk. I sent you dozens of messages." He said as he pounded his fists at the wooden door.

"You have a wife. We don't have anything to talk about!" She said, shouting at the door.

"Look. We're getting a divorce, okay?" He said.

"Good for you. But I don't want to see you anymore, Gerry. What we had was a product of your unfaithfulness. I don't want to be a part of it anymore so please." She placed her hand on the door, feeling Gerry through it.

"Will you let me in?" He asked.

Without thinking straight, Katrina unlocked her door and allowed Gerry inside.

"I'm sorry, I didn't tell you before. Our marriage fell apart years ago. Don't get me wrong, I love my son but it wasn't working anymore, it doesn't feel like a family. But when I'm with you....."

"Don't start with me, Gerry." She said, putting her arms together.

"No, Katrina, I'm serious. Those few days we spent together made me realize how easy it is to fall in love with you. "

Katrina's eyes grew bigger as she digested Gerry's straightforward statement. What? What did he say?

"What now?" She asked.

"I'm in love with you." Gerry repeated the words without any hesitation.

"You're just saying that to continue seeing me." She said. But she realized right at that moment that she was actually feeling the same way and it was without any guilt.

"I love you no matter what." Gerry said as he came closer.

"What about Lucas?" She asked.

"I'll still see him most of the days of the week. We'll just not be staying at the same house anymore." He explained and slowly grabbed her hands, carefully examining her reactions. "I want this. Us. You."

She bowed her head, she didn't know how to react. She was still mad but it was overpowered by Gerry's speech. She wants to continue being furious but she also wants to just hug him and welcome him into her arms.

I will regret this. "Okay, Gerry. Let's give us another shot." She said and gave Gerry a smile.
