Chapter 2 ~ The Next Day

She could feel their eyes staring at her as she left the room. 'Ugh that was embarrassing' She thought. She entered her room and changed into normal clothes. She wore her casual red and white t-shirt but today she decided to wear overalls with shorts instead of pants.

She went down the stairs to see them both there. She picked out a set of armor, her favorite, The Red-Stone Riot.

"Radar, do you want a set of armor?" She asked him. He screamed "ARE YOU SERIOUS!?" "Yes, here you go." She gave him a black armor with cool neon patterns and spikes; to go with the outfit he usually wears.

"Alright let's head to the temple." Lukas said walking out of the hall.

Lukas felt his nerves kicking in.

He didn't know why.

He thought maybe Aiden has changed for the better but its still makes Lukas nervous after what happened.

And if Jessica finds out what had happened to him in Sky-City the last time they were there, he would be toast.

She doesn't know and it will stay that way...

Lukas could only hope.

"Alright here we are." Jessica said walking towards the temple confidently. Sometimes he wished he was as brave as her.

That's why he like writing stories about their adventures, stories where the hero has no idea the are destined for greatness.

"Where is it?" Radar said looking around. Lukas pointed at the vines and started to climb up to the top.

Jessica was about to walk through the portal but Lukas grabbed her hand before she did, she looked up at him in his eyes.

"What?" She said trying to sound annoyed ."Wait Jess, if you go through that portal, where will you end up? Doesn't it lead to Sky City, which is basically gone?" He says not letting go of her hand.

"There is only one way to find out." She said and he was hesitant to let go but finally did. She walked through but Lukas and Radar realized they wouldn't know until they went in too.

Radar looked up at Lukas and gave him a shoulder bump. "Ok, ok. I'm going." He said nervously . Lukas got to the other side and fell onto a dirt path.

He saw that Jessica had already started walking toward Sky City. Radar fell in behind and they walked to catch up with her. When they did, they looked at the destroyed city.

"Seems like all the monsters died from the daylight after the storm." She said walking towards the waterfall. Radar look around amazed, never seeing it before.

Jessica jumped into the water and Radar screamed at her. "Jessica! What are you doing?" Lukas laughed and pushed him in, following him after.

(At the bottom)

Radar crawled out of the water panting from the sudden thought of death. When they got down there Lukas looked at Jessica to see her face dropped wide open. He directed his eyes to where she was looking.

"Holy shit." Lukas said out loud. Jessica gave him a shocked look because he rarely swore. "This place looks amazing" She said walking towards the town to see many familiar faces from the last time there were there.

"Omg, EVERYONE JESSICA IS HERE!" They hear a townsperson say running away to spread the news. Many chattering voices talking about them as they walk into the town.

"I feel like that's the founders house?" Radar said look at a big building to our right. They are about to walk up the stairs when the doors open wide and they saw Isa and....

Milo?

"Jessica and Lukas! Oh it's been so long since we've seen you!" Isa said walking down the stairs to give them both a welcoming hug. "And who might this handsome young boy be?" She said looking at Radar.

"My name is Radar, you must be the Founder? I've heard so much about you, it's a pleasure to meet you." He said putting out his hand for her to shake. "It's a pleasure to meet you too, Radar." Isa replied with a smile.

"Jessica, Lukas! It's been a while how have you been?" Milo said coming down to the bottom of the stairs.

"Nice to see you too Milo! We have been you know, saving the world here and there." Jessica gestured dismissively. Milo let out a small chuckle at that, "Don't you always."

"Lukas! How have you been? How is your arm doing?" Isa said gently grabbing his arm. Lukas was chagrined as he turned away from Jessica.

Jessica gave him a puzzled and concerned face, "Lukas." There was a pause, "What is she talking about?" She questioned in a furious tone.

"Lukas, hunny, did you not tell her?" Isa then looked at her. "Jessica, when Lukas fell down from the City after Aiden had pushed him off, he broke his arm." She said concerned.

"Lukas! What the hell!" She yelled as she hit him in the stomach this time. 'She is very cranky today, probably cause she didn't sleep enough like I told her to. She also didn't have her morning coffee' Lukas thought.

"Why didn't you tell me?" She said in now an upset tone. He looked at her nervously, "There was never a right time to tell you. When we went through the portal, I thought when we got home I could just take a potion of healing. But since we didn't exactly go home after that, I knew you were stressed out already from trying to find the portal home. I was just looking out for you- and the group." Lukas said trying to comfort her.

"Lukas, you have to tell me things like that. You mean a lot to me, are you ok now though?" She said looking up into his eyes. "I promise I'm okay." He said looking back at her with a smile.
