SOLVED

Louisa Williams, born Susan Lily Cox-Williams, was an American actress, as well as daughter of Cynthia "Cindy" Cox, famous for killing her abusive husband.

Louisa, known as Susie when she was a child and teenager, was born in Carmel-By-The-Sea, California, the eldest of four Cox-Williams children. In the next few years, four would follow; Dean, Samuel and Marilyn. Growing up, she often witnessed her mother being beaten by her father. Sometimes, she'd also be hit, but Cindy would always step in before Louisa was hurt badly.

On August 2nd, 1957, when Louisa was no more than five, Cindy poisoned her husband's pie, subsequently killing him, and the family went on the run, joined by Cindy's lover, Camila Garcia. For two years, they were on the run, going through multiple states throughout the western coast. First Nevada, then Oregon, then Washington, then Idaho, back to Nevada and then back to California. They arrived back in Carmel-By-The-Sea on October 30th, 1959.

During those two years, they had largely been living out on the streets, but with Susie sick, they couldn't do that, so they went to the house of Cindy's sister, Meredith. Meredith welcomed them with open arms, or so they thought. When they woke up at about five o'clock the next morning, police were calling Cindy's name. Her own sister had turned her in.

In order to avoid her children and lover getting caught up in the chaos, Cindy ran out the back door and the police quickly pursued her. They shot her multiple times in multiple different places, but the two shots to the head would ultimately do her in. Camila committed suicide the very next day and the kids were placed in the custody of their paternal grandparents.

Their grandparents, however, threw the kids out. They spent the next few years on the streets until 1964. Louisa had saved up enough money to rent an apartment in the shady part of town. No one asked questions, since she had money, and she and her siblings had somewhere to live.

But about a year later, authority found the children living unsupervised. The Cox kids were split up and placed in foster care. Louisa first went to live with the Jones family. But Horace hated her because of her mother. A few months later, she was gone. The next home was better. She was with a man named Jonah Workman. However, Jonah was in a fatal car crash, and Louisa went to another home.

The Carters were nice. Tyler was a director at the community theater. And this is what sparked Louisa's interest in acting. She was in many community plays, becoming known in the area as 'the girl who played Louisa' after a production of The Sound of Music. This is, of course, where she got the name we know her now as. She lived happily with the Carters until April of 1966. After Tyler almost died of a heart attack, Louisa was sent away again, so Tyler could focus on his health and not raising a child. This time, Louisa was placed in the care of Maybell Smith.

Though Maybell was kind to Louisa, she decided to run away, sick of being in the foster care system. In 1967, she went back to her home state of California, and she began using the name Louisa Williams. Louisa, after Louisa Von Trapp, as we've already established, and Williams, her father's surname, as Cox had become 'bad' after what her mother did. So, Susie Cox became Louisa Williams, the actress we know her as today.

Now living in San Francisco, Louisa ended up being hired to act in a Krispy Kreme commercial. And this was the start of her career. At first, she acted in commercials. Then she started getting hired to play background characters in movies and television shows. Then secondary characters. Then finally, main characters.

Today, Louisa is best known for her roles as Georgina Edwinson in Georgina's Lying, circa 1979, and Colleen in Just Like Me, circa 1981. She is also remembered for her final role in the sitcom, The Way Of The Walkers, as Dorothy Walker.

On May 23rd, 1982, Louisa was shot and killed by her co-star, Carter Miller, who played her husband, Joseph Walker. He had found out who she really was and "didn't feel safe working with the child of a killer". Her true identity was revealed to the public after her death.
