She couldn't believe what she was hearing "Whitney Houston wants me to sing a song for the bodyguard with Kenny G." She stood up abruptly in shock. her idol Whitney Houston wants her to sing a track for an upcoming movie that she is starring in. It sounded too good to be true.

Kenny G was an incredible saxophonist who has spanned hits just by his solo and collab works so to even work with him was far from Imani's reality.

Imani hadn't even dropped a single yet and an icon already wanted her to sing for their movie's soundtrack.

Chuckling at Imani's reaction, Sean gestured for her to sit down "You might want to sit down for what we're about to tell you next." Breathing out she sits down quietly but the excitement within her was boiling to the highest.

"How did you guys even manage to have this happen?" Imani was full of questions she so desperately needed to be answered.

"Somehow Whitney's team got a hold of your demo, gave it to her—she thought you sounded amazing and wanted you on the album, and they needed a female singer and we told them you'd be the perfect pick." The way he said it made the process sound so easy.

"Whitney heard my demo." Imani could not believe what she was hearing. How did her demo even manage to reach the likes of someone who's Whitney Houston?

"The thing is do you want to do this?" Sean's questions didn't dwell on Imani for long as she quickly nodded.

"Of course, I wanna do this—so when do we start." She confidently answers crossing her arms.

The smooth melodic tune of Kenny G playing the saxophone in the intro of the song played through Imani's headphones as she nodded along to the beat. They were now in the studio as Imani was singing the lyrics for the song Even My Heart Would Break. They've already had the production down packed all they needed were Imani's vocals and she was gonna give them just that.

"I've been around this world. I've been a lot of places seen a million faces in a thousand towns but when I looked into your eyes I knew I found heaven and I've been wantin' to tell you I never wanna let you go." She sang along to the lyric sheet, finding herself slowly getting immersed in the heartbreak-fueled track.

"It may be winter and heat on but what I'm feeling is summer in my heart. Is it too familiar to say "I love you". Would you be suspicious if I asked your name tell me, what would it take to really convince you that I'm gonna love you even if my heart would break." Imani didn't know why but she was feeling the song. It's not like she'd ever experienced heartbreak essentially—well if can count her middle school crush leaving her at the dance alone as heartbreak then so be it.

While singing she couldn't help but notice that Sean had his eyes trained on her. Maybe he was just deep into the music like she was? But for some reason, she felt a little bit weirded out.

Closing her eyes, she went into that mindset she would always go in whenever she was recording a song and stayed there until it was over.

Wanting everything to be perfect, Imani went over a few re-recordings as the minutes went by, and before she knew it the song was pretty much done.

"That's it," She confirmed to Sean and Andre who nodded. They wanted to listen to the track all together to see if there were any pitchy vocals but there weren't any so that saved her time.

"That's it." Sean presses the pause button.

Imani's lips wore a satisfied grin "That's what I like to hear—I wanted it to be perfect." In terms of when it came to whatever she was working on, she wanted it to be perfect.

"We can tell by the many recordings you made us do," Sean adds with a laugh.

Imani shrugged "If you want things to be in tip-top shape you can't just do it once."

Glancing at his watch Andre headed to the door abruptly "I have to attend an important meeting—Imani you did amazing, Sean you know what you have to do." He concludes his statement to which both nodded.

Once Andre left the studio it grew quiet between the two as neither knew what to say "Well I gotta go, see you later Sean." Imani glanced at her watch and notices that it was getting late. Grabbing her bag she proceeds to head toward the door but he stops her.

"Wait, before you go I've been meaning to ask if you wanted to go out and get some lunch? Maybe get to know each other better?" He asked. Sean would rather ask what he wanted to ask her now instead of just letting it linger inside.

Imani paused facing him with an unreadable expression "Is it about business?" She asks. She was more than happy to join him for lunch if it was about building her career but if it was something other than that, it was a no. Once he gave her no response that's all she needed "I'm sorry but I can't—the only relationship we can have is regarding business." the hold on her hand loosened as he nodded slowly.

"I understand." he looks around shoving his hand in his pockets "I apologize for coming at you like that."

She wouldn't lie and say that Sean wasn't an attractive man because he was, the thing is she didn't see him in that way and she hoped that her rejecting him wouldn't affect their working relationship.

Plus she's heard rumors here and there of him already being with someone so she wasn't about to become nobody's side chick and wanted to avoid that drama entirely.

"Don't sweat it, plus I'm sure your girlfriend wouldn't appreciate you sneaking around. Misa Right?" She sends him a wink before leaving the studio.

Closing the door behind her she lets shakes her head "What a scrub." she couldn't help but laugh. Mary made sure to inform her about Sean and she found out that he already had a girlfriend, so hopefully that'll make it click in his mind that she ain't want any of that drama and just stick to business.
