Rome had to get back to his duties and I still have a job at the restaurant, plus I cannot leave my grandfather for too long, today I have to take him to the doctor to get him checked up and I am praying that nobody recognizes him, not that he looks recognizable at this point but you know, maybe an old friend or a former worker of the palace, he was the king after all sure he has been gone for many years but...

Maybe I am just overthinking this, and anyway, thanks to Rome the doctor won't be asking for my grandfather's identification card, I don't know what he did but I am grateful.

As soon as I got home from Rome's house my grandfather bombarded me with questions but what I was not expecting was for him to ask me if we used protection, I felt like digging a hole in the ground and crawling into it but I just pretend like I did not hear him and told him to get ready quickly for the doctor's appointment.

We took a cab to the clinic, we went to the reception and as soon as Marie 'the receptionist' heard my name, the old lady jumped from her chair so quickly I thought she might fall, she personally walked us to the doctor's office.

"You must be Astraea, correct?" Dr. Rhodes said after we entered his office

"Yes that is correct and this is my grandfather-" he cut me off before I finished

"Oh don't worry dear his highness has already gone through everything with me" he said with a smile, he turned to my grandfather and asked, "Michael, correct?"

"Yes that is me" my grandfather replied

"Great, so now we can begin, so what brings you in today?"

"Well I haven't had a check-up in a long time and a few days ago my back started aching, to a point where I could not move my legs or arms" my grandfather explained the same thing he told me the other night when I returned from Rome's house.

Dr. Rhodes notes down in his blue notebook and continues to speak "I see, it feels like paralysis, have you had any other symptoms?"

He looked at me for a moment before answering
"No, I haven't had any other symptoms"

"Good good, we'll start with the X-ray and then I will run some blood tests, is that okay?" Dr. Rhodes asked looking up from his notebook to my grandfather

"Of course" he said

"Ms Astraea you can wait in my office we will be done soon, while you're here you can fill out these forms for Mr Michael" Dr. Rhodes gave me some papers and left with my grandfather to the check-up room.

I have been waiting in this office for 3 hours now and with every passing minute my worry grows, I really hope everything is alright and there are no bad news but deep down I know that something is not right, the same sad look that my grandfather showed me today is the same look my parents had that dreadful day.

Just thinking about that day makes my heart beat uncontrollably, I hear a loud ringing in my head

This cannot happen here no no no... I think to myself
I try to go to the door but my legs give out as soon as I stand from the chair, memories of my parents flood my head.

My throat feels dry, I'm afraid I might hurt myself if I try to shout for help, the nausea is rising with every second and so is the heat.

My phone, where is my phone? I should call Rome only he'll understand my situation.

I scan the ground for my phone and luckily it did not fall far from me, I drag myself towards my phone because it's my last hope.

I dial Rome's number quickly but he doesn't answer and I'm hoping he is not in a meeting so I try again, this time he picks up on the second ring
