Mother's Day Special

Start from the beginning

It had been months since you had seen him like this, in the flesh, and it was a shock to see him as anything more than pixels on a screen. Taking in the sight, your eyes trailed down his figure, noticing the extra muscle he seemed to have gained since leaving, his arms notably more toned than before, and his jawline a tad sharper. But he was still the same Keith.

"Hey, love,", he grinned, rising from his seat on the comfortable furniture. Eyes filling with tears, you rushed forward, his arms instantly wrapping around you as he brought you as close as possible. "God, it's good to see you,", he murmured sweet nothings into your ear as you wept happily, his hands weaving into your hair and playing with it, silently confirming for both of you that this was real.

No words were exchanged as he swayed the two of you back and forth, relishing in the feeling you had missed oh so much. Until now, it seemed, neither of you had realised how much you craved to be in the other's arms, bodies pressed so closely together that you could feel the steady thump of his heart and your chests rising and falling in sync.

"What are you doing here? How did you manage to get time off?", you asked, finally lifting your head to gaze up at him. "You're not gonna get in trouble for being there, right?", he chuckled and shook his head, brushing a strand of hair away from your face and peppering your face in kisses.

"Nope. I'm all yours, approved by Kolivan, of course,", he assured.

"But why?", you furrowed your brows, not seeing why the dedicated Galran would allow Keith to have time off of work when they were so invested in their current mission.

"It's the alien equivalent of mother's day, according to Kolivan. He wanted me to come and spend some time with you and Isiah for a bit since it had been so long,", he explained, grinning. Humming in understanding, you snaked your arms around his neck, fiddling with his mullet which, although foreign in length, still felt astonishingly familiar. "I know, I need a haircut,"

"Desperately,", you agreed, laughing. With a faux pout, he hoisted you into his arms, ignoring your squeal of surprise, and started making his way down the corridor. "Where are we going? I have legs!", he tapped your thighs playfully, and you swear, you could practically feel the smirk playing on his lips.

"I know you can, but it's mother's day, so let me do the work,", he commented. "Plus, you're gonna pay for talking badly about my mullet,", falling limp in his arms, you gave in, instead opting to draw shapes on his back to preoccupy yourself until he finally put you down. "First stop, your room. Get your suit on,"

"What's the magic word?", you hummed, crossing your arms over your chest.

"I love you?", he guessed, taking a few steps forward until he had backed you up to the wall, meeting your eyes as he looked down at you cheekily. Heat rushed to your face, and your legs felt weak at the realisation of the close proximity. One of his arms rested above your head, the other holding your waist tenderly. It had been so long since you had been so close -- so intimate -- with someone, so you couldn't help but gasp as his lips connected with your own in a passionate, hungry manner. He had longed for this, for the euphoria he felt around you.

Bringing your arms away from yourself, you pressed your hands to his chest, tilting your head up and deepening the kiss until you felt so lightheaded you had to pull away. Panting, Keith rested his forehead on your shoulder and closed his eyes, a content smile dancing on his lips.

"It was actually 'milkshake', but I'll let it slide, I suppose,", you whispered, breath fanning down his neck as you brought your mouth to his ear. Heart pounding, he lifted his head and looked at you with wide eyes, body frozen as you tapped his butt, then sauntered into your room to change.
