The weight of fear
lies heavily on my bones,
and the profound drag
of anxiety
rarely leaves me alone,
clouding my mind
in deepest shades of blue,
a sonorous reminder
in a variety of hues
that colour me completely,
leaving me darkened
with regret,
a nod to all the things
I can't ever forget,
yet one day, I'll leave behind
this discarded destiny,
and embrace a future of forevers
that work better
for me.
