Chapter 36: Avoid

Kinabukasan ay pumasok na ako sa school. Tulad nang aking inaasahan ay natambakan ako ng mga activities at schoolworks. I was confused at first on why didn't the teachers question my two weeks absence but I guess it's because of Cirrus's doings.

My whole morning was tiring. I speedrun all of my works and I think I am at my limit so Lizette and I took a quick break in the school's coffee shop.

"Maghanap ka na ng upuan, Celestia. Ako na ang o-order. What do you want?" tanong ni Lizette sa akin.

"Just a coffee jelly, Liz." tumango siya at naglakad na papuntang counter.

Ako naman kaagad na naghanap ng mauupan namin. The shop is quite crowded so it wasn't easy to find a vacant seat. Mabuti nalang ay may kakaalis lang na mga estudyante sa may side window kaya kaagad akong pumunta roon.

I was glad that Lizette didn't asked me much about what happened when we met earlier. Alam kong gustong gusto na niya akong tanunging. Knowing her, she likes to gossip a lot—but in a good way. She just said that Tita Christine and everyone in the bakery are all worried sick about me.

It was a relief though. That they aren't questioning me. Hindi pa talaga ako comportable na sabihin sa kanila kung ano ba talaga ang nangyari sa akin sa mga nakaraang linggo. I don't want them to leave me. Kapag nalaman nilang isa akong half blood ay siguradong mag-iiba ang tingin nila sa akin.

I don't want to lose my only closest friends. I can still understand that they doesn't care if humans like me lives here, but being a half blood is a whole different case. Being a half blood, I shouldn't even be walking here and talking to them. I know for the fact that being a half blood is like a taboo here.

Hindi ko lubos na maisip na kapag nalaman nila na isa akong half blood ay hindi ko alam kung ano ang gagawin nila sa akin. Would I be caged? Would I be thrown out of this town? Or worse, would they kill me?

Umiling ako. It doesn't matter which one of them. I can't let them know that I am a half blood. Honestly, I am scared. I am scared on what will happen to me now? Everything just came like a flash. Now I need to hide what truly I am before it's going to be over for me.

When Lizette arrived holding a two cups of coffee, we stayed in the coffee shop for half an hour. Sharing some few talks and of course, her lovelife for the past few weeks that I wasn't present.

Pagkatapos naming mag lunch ay saka na ako nag paalam sa kaniya na mauuna na. She went straight to our room while I decided to go to the library. The reason is because I wanted to know about what a half blood is. I am not quite sure if they have a book of that but I'll try to find one.

Nang makarating sa library ay wala masyadong estudyante. Dumiretso na ako sa bookshelves. Dinaanan ko lang ang mga librong nasa harap at diretso naglakad papuntang history section at nagsimulang maghanap.

It was hard trying to find it because it was dark. Nasa may pinakadulo kasi itong history section at natatabunan ang ilaw ng mga naglalakihang mga book shelves. It wasn't too long when I found a book that might be related to what I was trying to find.

The History of Casta Haema. Iyon ang title ng book. I already read the latest version of this book but this one is the old one. Tinignan ko ang date na nakalagay at mukhang ten years ago pa ito. Kinuha ko ito sa shelve at pinagpagan pa dahil napupuno na ito ng alikabok.

Kaagad ko itong binuksan at inilipat ang mga pahina hanggang sa natagpuan ko kung ano ang aking hinahanap. There it is. A whole page containing the infos about half bloods.

Sa taas nito ay may naksulat na salitang 'prohibited' gamit ang isang kulay pulang ballpen. Hindi ko pinansin ang nakasulat at ipinagpatuloy ang pagbabasa.
