Emma slept late that night.

She was still stuck with what happened between her and Austin.

"Ugh! He's filling my head! " She slapped both of her cheeks before burying her face in the blanket.

Then she remembered the way his nose skimmed her skin.

She hit the bed a few times.

"I can't sleep."

She admit that the way he act is sexy.

It was hard to forget.

That caused her to stay awake until 4 a.m. as she tried to distract herself by playing with her phone.

Ring ringggg

"Hmm, hello." Her sleepy voice said.

"Emma, where are you?"

"Are you still at the hotel?" Her best friend shouted through the phone.

"Yea, why?" She asked.

"The owner of Ellison is here; he's looking for you." She rose from her bed.

"Oh no! Is my father there?"

"No, your dad is not coming to work today. He asked me to take a look at the company if you don't work, but suddenly Ellison came today."

"Oh nooo, please cover for me." Emma panicked.

"Tell him I'm running some errands for my mother."

Emma ended the call immediately.

She went to the bath and had a long sleeve blouse and a mid-thigh skirt.

She didn't have much time to do any makeup, and she only had lipstick on. She then wears her stilettos.

Her bodyguard came in time to take her things while assessing her to the car.

"Please drive as fast as you can to the company."

She answered the phone that was ringing.

"Were you drunk last night?" Her father asked through the call.

"No, I just can't sleep until morning."

"Are you still far away from the company?"

"I'll probably be there in half an hour if it's not jammed."

After the call ended, they suddenly got stuck in traffic.

"The hell!" Emma panicked.

40 minutes later...

Claire was already waiting for her by the lift, and she told her everything that happened, including the part where he warned about spreading rumours about him.

Didn't he see through my lies?

Emma and Claire entered her office together.

There he was, sitting like a boss on the chair in front of her desk while facing the door.

"I only need your boss." He spoke sternly.

Claire apologised and then left the office.

"Slacking off your company?"

"I have other things to do than wait for you to come." He turned the chair around so that he was facing her, who was about to sit.

"Didn't Claire tell you about me running errands?"

"If I'm not mistaken, someone woke up late this morning."

Like he knew that Emma couldn't stop thinking about him.

"So, you're messing with me now." It was not a question.

He didn't have a smile on his face.

"Listen, Ms. Emma, when it's time to work, I will be in working mode."

"So do I." She glared at him.

He stared at her.

Emma glanced away before walking to the window to open the slide with the remote.

She was aware of his stares at her, which she suddenly felt subconsciously on her buttocks.

She turned around and was about to walk back to her chair.

"Why?" She stopped walking.

"You have a tattoo, huh?"

Emma's eyes widen; she looks down and immediately realises that her short skirt is not covering her thighs that much.

"I mean on both your arms."

"How do you know?" She asked with a shocked face.

He didn't answer, but her mind suddenly remembered her holding up the remote control. He probably saw it when her sleeves were riding up.

She went to sit down in her chair again.

"So, what got you up early today?" Emma asked politely.

"I'm making sure my partnership is not slacking off; I can sue your company if I don't get the best result because of your company slacking off."

"What's with this sue thingy?" She asked with furrowed eyebrows.

"Well, who started it." It was not a question.

Emma rolled her eyes as she felt irritated with his attitude.

"I heard your age is 27; soon you'll be 28, and it's not far from reaching 30 years old. I'm scared that if you get too worked up about my company, you'll have a wrinkle, have a stroke, and die before you even have children. If you've even had the chance to get married." She sarcastically said with her serious face.

"What a clever mouth you have, Ms. Emma." He commented with a smirk.

"But I hope you have a clever brain too."

"It's a good thing I have a girlfriend because I'll probably suffer if I try to make a move on someone who is only clever with her mouth."

Emma's cheeks were tinged with red.

He was sure that Austin was playing with her patience.

"Then you better hurry up and marry her because I'm scared you'll die soon." Austin stared at her for a few minutes, but didn't say anything about her last words.

Emma smiled sweetly while she lay back on her chair, finally able to make him shut up.

"I'm not done messing with you." Austin suddenly said, confirming that he was indeed messing with her.

She raised her eyebrows at him.

"I'm not looking forward to marriage, Ms. Emma." Emma furrowed her eyebrows after what Austin have said since she's not interested about his life.

He then pulled out his tablet and showed her pictures from the event last night.

Her eyes widened.
