Avatar: Pandora's child

Part 6

          Lyle and Vity went to science wing. Zdinark were waiting for them. 

-"Come on Vity we'll go less used hallways. I don't want to met colonel by accident."

-"Ok." - she replied while holding her puppy.

          As he thought, no one was walking those halls. When they were close to their target, they heard footsteps.

-"Corporal Wainfleet." 

-"... Shit." - He knew he fucked up as he heard colonel voice. He never was so scared as right now.

-"I wanted to talk to you. You're free now or (?) ... Oh, good morning Vita. What are you holding?" - Quaritch asked and kneel in front of her.

-"It's viperwolf. I found him when I was on scouting with Lyle and others. I know that I wasn't suppose to and it could be dangerous, Lyle tell me about consequences." - as she said that he looked over his shoulder at Lyle.

-"But he was lonely and I needed to help him. Just look at him."

-"Yeah, I see. He's very nice." - he pet him and stand up.

-"Colonel?"

-"Yes?"

 -"Lyle tell me that you will be angry at him because of bringing animal to base. Please don't kill him. It was my fault." - he laughed softly after hearing that. 

-"It's alright. I won't do anything bad to him. If your pet won't be making too much problems, it can stay." 

          After that he smile to her and turned to Lyle. He was  standing next to wall with wide opened eyes and looking at floor. When Quaritch saw him like this he came closer to him and put his hand on his shoulder.

-"It's alright kid, don't be scared of me. You're taking care of our little girl. You're on 'no harm' list. When you got some free time come to me, I want to talk a little bit." - he smiled and go away.

          When they couldn't see him Vity watched Lyle slide down on the floor. She walked closer to him.

-"Are you alright?" - she asked.

-"I thought I gonna had a heart attack." - he was breathing fast and shaking.

-"It'll be alright. He said he's ok with having a puppy. Don't worry and lets go. I didn't saw dr. Augustine for longer time. I want to see her." - he smiled and stand up.

-"Ok. Lets go."

          Zdinark were waiting for them next to laboratory doors. As they came inside everyone looked at them. 

-"Good morning dr. Patel. Where's dr. Augustine?" - Vity asked when she saw him.

-"Good morning. She's in link unit. If you want to see her she's outside." 

-"Thank you."- She thank and went to see her.

          Greace was doing researches in avatars house. 

-"Good morning!"

-"Hm? Oh, good morning sweety. I didn't see you for long time. How are you doing?" - Greace asked when saw little girl walking to her.

-"We found viperwolf. His parents got killed and he was alone so I brought him here. Can you check is he ok?" - little girl said everything as always.

          She smiled and took pup on the table.

-"Ok, lets see... His skin looks good, I don't see any infections in eyes or mouth. By looking just by eyes he's healthy, but lets do some blood tests." 

          When she were taking blood from him he looked like don't really care about it. He only moved when needle were piercing his skin. 

-"It's such a calm puppy." - she said while watching his reactions.

          Vity attentively watched hole process. She really liked watching everybody doing their jobs. 

-"All done. Nothing bad happening." - she said and gave him back to Vity.

-"I'm happy to hear that. Oh, I wanted to ask if I could go with you to Omatikaya school, I want to met some new kids and I didn't had na'vi lessons for longer time."

-"Of course sweetheart. I'm going to village tomorrow you can go with me."

-"Thank you."

          After that they talk a little bit. When there was dinner time Vity went with Lyle and Zdinark to cafeteria. Greace went on avatars dinner and after that she joined other humans.

          When they eat dinner Lyle went to talk to colonel. That was really stressful for him cause he didn't know why he wanted to talk to him. 

-"Good afternoon colonel. You wanted to talk to me." - Lyle said while walking into his office.

-"Good to see you Lyle. I've got proposition for you." -  Quaritch said and invited him to sit down.

-"I'm listening." 

-"So. Next month with new recruits, will come to us inspector from Earth. We need to make all documents complete."

-"Ok, so what do I need to do?" - he asked as he didn't really understand it.

-"It's about Vita. In her documents we got that her parents are dead and only this. We need to have written in papers who is taking care of her and who's responsible for her health, education etc."

-"Aren't we all taking care of her?"

-"Yes, but if we don't want them to take her away from us she need legal guardian."

           They looked at each other in silent. 

-"I'm asking you because you're the closest with her. She need at least one "parent". You will be responsible for her and your name will be in documents as her guardian. Are you ok with it?" 

-"Well, it won't be lots of differences. I agree." 

          Quaritch gave him some papers to sign. It took him around an hour. When he ended they talk for a moment and then he left.

          Colonel were sitting above those papers for longer time. He were thinking if not to sign them too. He really loved her and even if he can't spend much time with her, he wanted to be part of her life. After couple of hours of thinking he decided to do this.
