Wednesday's soft side

Start from the beginning

And even if Wednesday didn't want to admit it, she looked really good in colorful sweaters.

"Hey Wends, I'm here!" Enid said, making Wednesday freeze in place. Enid noticed it but just viewed it as normal Wednesday behavior.

"I was thinking that we could play something tonight," Enid said, sitting down on her bed. Wednesday was still frozen to place, looking as if she was trying to be invisible.

She is probably wanting to kill me. She thought. She saw Thing walking to her on the cold floor, and jumped into Enid's lap.

'Wednesday is alright.' He signed as Enid looked at Wednesday again. Wednesday looked like Wednesday, just slightly cuter in that sweater.

'Maybe try going to her.' Thing signed again, to which Enid nodded. Enid stood up and walked towards Wednesday. As she slowly came closer to her, Enid extended her arms and hugged her from behind. She immediately felt her tense up.

"What are you doing?" Wednesday asked, putting her hand on Enid's.

"Just hugging you, Wends," Enid said. "And finally enjoying seeing you in something colorful for once!"

Wednesday was quiet, but also, she let go of Enid's hands.

"Do you like the sweater?" Enid asked. Wednesday didn't say anything, but Enid felt a slight movement with her head, indicating she was agreeing.

"So? Are you up to something tonight?" Enid suggested, leaning down, and placing her chin on Wednesday's shoulder, looking at the already written sentences on the paper.

"C-Could we...watch a m-movie?" Wednesday said, lighting Enid's mood up.

"Of course! Whatever you want! I'll go buy something to eat and you will make yourself comfortable wherever." Enid said, letting go of Wednesday.

Wednesday shivered as Enid let go, somehow immediately missing her touch. Enid was almost immediately out of the room, letting Wednesday sigh out of relief. She pushed herself from the table as Thing appeared on her bed.

'You are finally letting yourself close to Enid.' Thing signed as Wednesday looked at him.

"Don't you dare say anything else, or you'll be down to one finger," Wednesday said, but Thing didn't care.

'You should finally tell her.' "No Thing, and stop. Enid is nothing but a maybe-friend to me." Wednesday replied.

'Okay, but at least be open to her. She already liked that she sees you wearing that sweater.' Wednesday went silent. She knew what she was wearing, and for good, but selfish reason; it reminded her of Enid. She missed Enid every time she wasn't around. After some time of fighting with these feelings, she stumbled across the sweater, and as she put it on, she immediately felt Enid close to her.

"But you won't interrupt. And you'll make sure we don't get interrupted." Thing gave her thumbs up, as Wednesday stood up, and grabbed her blanket from her bed while heading to Enid's side.

Oh my god, what is happening to me? Wednesday thought as she sat down on Enid's bed, the moment Enid came back into the room, with all kinds of sweets in her hands.

"Oh, so on my bed," Enid said, as she saw Wednesday, sitting on the edge of her bed. Wednesday was quiet, just looked down. In a matter of seconds, Enid was jumping on her bed already changed into her pajamas.

"So, which movie?" Enid asked, grabbing her laptop. "I would not suggest watching IT tho."

"Pick something you want," Wednesday said, bringing her knees to her chest.
