CHAPTER 5: Memory Synchronization (PART 3)

Scroll: You're not gonna just disappear again, are you?

Popcorn: No. You're real. I'm real.

Scroll: What took you so long? Also, where were you back at the academy?

Popcorn: I was looking all over for your soul. Also, I escaped detention to protect you guys. I feel like I was turning into one of those ink zombies. I want to show that you'll never be alone again.

Scroll: Well show me, what else would I do? Dummy.

Popcorn: Dummy...

Popcorn grabs Scroll's foot and rapidly flies upwards with Scroll.

Popcorn: Everything matters.

Popcorn then flies downwards really fast, causing Scroll to panic.

Scroll: WHOA WHOA WHOA!! HOLD UP!!

Scroll and Popcorn hit the ground but for some reason, they end up in a bright void. Both of them stood up and Scroll tried to process what just happened.

Scroll: ... What just happened?

Scroll also noticed that the self-harm she did to her eyes was gone.

Scroll: My eyes aren't sore anymore!

Popcorn: (looks at Scroll with a big smile) I'm your best friend forever!

The two looked at the distance, and it seems like the white void isn't really an empty void anymore. The scenery looks rather... pleasing.

Scroll: And the landscape isn't blank. Is this the real afterlife?

Popcorn: I don't know, but it's nice.

Scroll: Wouldn't say it's nice being dead. Am I even still dead?

Popcorn: I also don't know. But I'm pretty sure we've been dissolved into those ink fluids back there.

Scroll: I guess so. I remember being grabbed after tripping on a pencil. ... Where's Inkwell?

Popcorn: Still alive, I imagine. I think so... What is Inkwell doing now? Because... I knew that hurt them... even when I'm "dead".

Scroll: You probably shouldn't have seen that.

Popcorn: I don't mind. Makes me wonder, will there ever be a cure for the Inkfection? If so, are we going to be out of this void?

Scroll: Heh. Well, I hope so. All we have to do for now is to wait.

...

Nonbinary and Inkwell woke up from Torch's last memory. They then proceed to find their surroundings, warping.

Inkwell: U-Uhm- what is happening?

Nonbinary: We're gonna die!!!

The two then were transported into a bright void with nothing else except for a door. Inkwell went to the door and opened it, revealing what is behind the door. A messy computer room where there's a Torch sitting. The two enbies enter the room to their surprise, and the Torch looks behind him, also to his surprise.

Torch: H-How did you-

Nonbinary ran over to Torch and kicked him off the chair.

Nonbinary: What have you done to Inanimatica?! Why did you do that?! Are you out of your mind?? YOU MANIAC!! TURN INANI BACK TO NORMAL THIS INSTANT!!!

Torch: (sat up) Okay, okay! Chill!

Nonbinary grabbed Torch's chair with their asterisk and was ready to smash Torch with it but before they could, Inkwell ran up to them and stopped them from doing so.
