Darkness. A darkness so black that no sense of direction could be formed. Softness? Something soft but firm was feeling very much like a pillow. A slight smell of detergent wafted in and out with each slow breath. 'Where am I? Is this heaven?'

The question bounced around in thought, echoing back louder and louder. Eyes screwed shut and hands flew to ears to block out the chorus of voices.  Suddenly, warmth. A gentle warmth coming from the right hand. Even though when it seemed the tides of darkness kept rising, that warm feeling remained.

That warm feeling was encouraging enough to try to remember what happened. Eyelids relaxed in concentration. There was....shouting. A lot of shouting. The voices sounded familiar. Stairs. Stealthily walking around a house. Waves of nausea. A redhead with the most bluest eyes. More shouting. Pain. So so so much pain. Dizziness. The last memory being pulled onto a person's laps.

All was quiet. Then Chucky opened her eye. Harsh glare from the fluorescent light filled her vision to which she quickly shut from its brightness. Once more she tried again much slower. Half her vision was covered. She moved her hand to check and it stopped at the bandages wrapped around her face. 'Oh. I got shot with an arrow.', she realised.

She looked at her right hand to see Frankie beside her holding it like it was a lifeline. A ticking sound was soon identified to be the wall clock in the front of the room. It was much like a hospital room except there was only the bed she was in, a couch and the chair Frankie sat in. The window had its blinds shut. Everything was white. Her bed was right in the middle so she could see everything around her.

A camera in the top right corner was showing a red light. Before she made to try and sit up, a broken voice spoke. "Chucky?" Chucky faced her sister who was staring at her with so much love and relief in her tired eyes. Frankie practically pulled her so close to her chest but so gentle that it didn't hurt Chucky.

Frankie's shoulders shook as she sobbed. Chucky lifted her arms until she held her sister's waist. No words could be spoken between them. They held each other for a long while until Frankie's sobs turned into sniffles. "Where's everyone else?", Chucky finally asked. "Are Cree and Fei okay?" "What happened and how are we here?" "Where's—"

"You're not even five minutes into getting better and you're already so chatty.", said Frankie softly. Chucky pouted slightly. "Everyone's okay. The girls are okay."

"And as for what happened.... I'm not even sure myself. I had you in my lap. I was so scared and I didn't know how to protect you from the missile. I thought I lost you.", she said brokenly as a few more tears escaped. "The missile hit us but it didn't."

"Frankie that doesn't make any—" "I know it doesn't make sense but that's what happened. The impact nearly took you out of my arms and th—there was so much blood...." Frankie took out a handkerchief and blew her nose. Only a few tears showed themselves on her face as she composed herself.

"After it hit, we were all spread out in a huge crater. I saw Fei get up to check on Cree who was on the ground. She did something weird with her arm then left her on the ground." "Fei went to check on Anastasia and she was just screaming and sobbing.", she finished.

"While that was happening I just tuned it out. Next thing I know, some two guys came running towards us. One of them had the reddest hair I'd ever seen. The other guy just so tall and buff. I felt warm around my ears and then I passed out."

Chucky could only look at her sister in disbelief and awe. 'You went through all that and you're still keeping a brave face for me.', she thought. "Frankie...you really are an ugly crier.", she finally said. Frankie looked at her sister in shock who smiled very cheerily and proceeded to hit her legs severely with the pillow she had on her chair.

"Ow hey I'm a patient here!", Chucky exclaimed in mid laughter. 'Thank you for being so strong and looking after me.', she thought as Frankie continue to pummel her legs with a pillow. Their laughter slowly died down as they caught their breath. "So where's Cree and Fei? Are they alright? How come they aren't here?"

Frankie's demeanor changed as she let out a loud and long sigh. She squared her shoulders and taking a deep breath, she took her sister's hand. "I need you to listen carefully. The last time I saw them, they were both alive. Cree had a banged up shoulder and Fei landed on her foot awkwardly when the missile hit so she had to be held for support. The men that found us wanted to put us all in some detainment unit while they took you to their medical center but Fei argued it would be best for me to be there with you when you woke up."

Chucky stared at her hands as her sister went on. "You've been unconscious for almost a week now and I never left your side. But whenever I asked the guards outside the door about the others, they wouldn't say anything. So it's likely they are alive and their injuries have been treated. But as for where they are and if they're still being detained, I'm not sure."

"Our target is also still alive. But I guess that doesn't really matter anymore." Chucky looked up immediately. "What does that mean?", she asked.
"It means I called for back up and instead they sent a missile. So according to the Grey Leagues...we're all dead."
