With the crossover of the 21st century into the 22nd, there came a new world order. All the seven continents had established themselves as individual countries and all the countries in them were converted into various jurisdictions.
This sudden change came about due to a momentary collapse of the world's economy and a set of unexpected unique occurrences that plagued the continents. In the case of Asia, several hundreds of reports indicated a spread of an unnatural phenomenon. People were suddenly able to create and manipulate water.
Most of these discoveries, shared from phones or video cameras, showed an individual moving or making changes to water. At first people coined these videos to be fake but soon enough similar stories were reported in other parts of the world.
In North America, people began to show a strange aptitude for electronics. They were extremely diverse from being able to recreate new devices, creating things from scratch, manipulation of electricity and so on. South America seemed to breed people who were able to manipulate forms of objects right from the atomic structure.
Europe had cases of superhuman abilities surfacing like enhanced eyesight, superhuman strength and while rare, brought out people with the power of telekinesis. Even more obscure were the reports of people with telepathy. Australia reported people showing abilities of creating and manipulating heat, light and fire.
Africa and Antarctica brought a various combination of all the above reports as well as people being able to manipulate plants and vegetation, communicating with animals and much more undiscovered. All these happenings occurred when the world experienced what scientists called a Ray of Evolution.
This ray had somehow passed over the world from seemingly nowhere and only altered the DNA of all humans. The various abilities resulted from this ray and scientists confirmed that the there was no current scale of measurement that could accurately portray the diversity of abilities in the near future. However while everyone's DNA was somehow altered, not everyone exhibited manifestations of any ability. Instead the "normal" people seemed to behave more advanced.
Problems that plagued the world seemed to vanish. Poverty, hunger and a lack of education globally reduced to 75 percent. Technological advancement suddenly made sciences like time travel a possibility. Climate change was still a major hurdle but the severities of it were now reversible.
The collapse of the world's economy came about because many resources that were coveted and fought for became accessible to everyone in one way or another. In other cases alternatives were made. No one used steel anymore when they could create a stronger material from their own resources and research.
This forced thousands of governments and international organisations to crash because each continent had somewhat become independent. The only currency that was worth using was knowledge and the presence of an ability in exchange for something the other needed. And thus came about the reformation of seven continents into seven countries.
Of these seven only Europe and Asia maintained a public alliance of sorts. People began to govern themselves and formed their own authorities, laws and currencies. Education had vastly transformed and collectively, the world saw it fit to have one education system under the newly formed Global Education Association.
The G.E.A came up with a compacted curriculum that combined all the histories and knowledge from all over the world. And while it was implemented differently around the world, every school had the curriculum. One such school was the Rangers School for the Gifted which was based in Europe.
Rangers School for the Gifted or RSG as the students called it, is part of a central intelligence association that is secret to the G.E.A. The school has three main divisions that are led by three brothers who are professionally government trained agents that carry out tasks assigned to them by the G.E.A.
Like the students, the brothers also have gifts of their own that have been honed to be of use to their work. The oldest brother is Brent, who is in charge of the first division, has a scary reputation in the school. Preceding the notoriety is his immediate brother Dominic.
Brent has unusually dark red hair and blood red eyes to match. His eye colour is due to his ability to perform pyrokinesis, which allows him to manipulate fire at will as well as create it. He teaches strategic planning and analytical deduction as his main subject in his division. A subject well suited to him as he is methodical and practical with everything he does.
As a scholar, he has qualifications that acknowledge the title of professor in various maths and sciences with a specialisation in quantum physics. In terms of appearance, Brent keeps his hair in a neat low ponytail that ends near his shoulder blades. His face, though stern and broody most of the time, is appealing in a 'I'm a scary vampire here to kill you' kind of way.
He dresses in smart casual and always dons a red tie. As a man of thought, he spends his time reading and so is usually found with a book in hand and reading glasses perched on his head. As an agent he is a dangerous man of high intellect and will do whatever is required of him with no compromises.
The second brother Dominic is a quick-tempered man that has no qualms about resorting to violence if need be. Complimentary to his personality, his gift is invulnerability which allows him to withstand most physical attacks and an incredibly high pain tolerance. These are accompanied by acute senses of smell, sight and hearing. His physical prowess allows him to excel in every sport and is always in top form for any missions that require extreme physical capabilities.
What truly cements him as an agent is his vast knowledge of nearly every terrain known to man and his application of physics, chemistry and biology on the field. Think of him as that aggressive kid in high school that always gets in trouble for fighting but is always on par with academics and sports.
His physique makes him quite popular with women as he takes the time to care for his appearance. Black hair that licks into curls all the way to his nape, long eyelashes paired with dark green eyes. Finally a devilish smile that told you exactly what he wanted and that you couldn't say no. Like his brothers, he stands at 6ft 3 and has no hesitation with asserting dominance and authority especially with his students.
He mostly wears dark green dress shirts and tailor-made slacks and smart shoes. His division focuses on physical training and geography paired with sciences that aid in survival skills training. Lastly, the third brother is Gideon but his close friends tend to call him Boomer because he tends to do things in an old-fashioned way at times.
A hopeless romantic at heart and a rookie poet, Gideon is easily the most popular teacher at the RSG because he gets on so well with his students and to be blunt, is a fine man. Dirty blonde hair that is in messy curls and shaved short at the back of his head. Eyes blue like sapphires, brown freckles that are sprinkled across the bridge of his nose and a kilowatt smile to boot.
Blue is a prominent feature in his wardrobe but has nearly every colour under the sun as well. He dresses casually most of the time but will dress professionally when he has to. In his division, Gideon teaches psychology and manipulation tactics which is supported by a master's degree in his repertoire of knowledge.
His skills go hand in hand with his gift which is the distortion of reality and time which he projects into a person's state of mind and forms illusions that target their deepest psychological fears, desires, insecurities and happiness. Another ability of his is telepathy which is only one sided as he can only send messages but given his skill-set, he can accurately gauge a person's thoughts as well. He chose to be a guidance and counselling teacher to help his students with not only their social lives but their gifts as well.
The school was built to help bright kids but its true purpose is carried out by the three divisions which are there to pick, train and specialise young people into field agents to be used by the G.E.A. These agents are used as spies for the other countries. The very first trained agents under the program were Brent, Dominic and Gideon.
