I made barramundi, something I learnt from the internet.

After cooking I took my food to the sitting room, turning on my tv I looked for something to watch, as I scanned through I stumbled on an episode of SpongeBob and decided to settle on that, it was always fun watching SpongeBob and I found the show to be medicinal because it made me laugh till I forget my problems.

When I was done eating I kept the dishes for later, I was too lazy to do anything, I made my way back to my bedroom to continue my sleeping marathon.

The weekend went by fast and it was Monday again, I hated Mondays, everybody did, having to be lazy a the whole weekend and then having to get up early to go to work on Monday morning, it was the worst, I didn't have a choice, I had to work and I needed information concerning a certain someone, my only hope right now is that she drops by.

I began my day at work with hot coffee, before I stared checking all the necessary things that needed my attention, I think I'll have to miss my online class today, I am not in the right state of mind to focus on any class right now, my mind was on something else or rather someone else.

Things didn't go as I planned, as the person I was anxiously waiting for to show up in the store didn't show up, each time any staff welcomed someone new I stop what am doing to see who has entered, but each time I got disappointed.

I wrapped my day as I packed my things preparing to leave, I had to call Matthew to let him know how today went, picking up my phone, I dialed his number and as I waited patiently for him to pick up, he picked on the second ring,

"Hey, how are you? Any good news?"
he asked,

"Am good, but no good news, she didn't show up, waited for hours and still nothing," I said sounding disappointed.

"Don't worry honey, we'll get it one way or the other, just be patient, he said to me as I began picking my things to make my way out of the store, still with the phone on my ear I waved Grace as I walked pass her out the store,

"Matthew we do not have time, I need to know what she wants, I need to know what's going on, if someone who is my mom disappear for thirteen years and then I suddenly meet her it can't be good, she might have been my mom, but I don't know her anymore, I can't trust her, If her coming into my life is for a bad reason I want to be ahead of whatever she's planning," I said to Matthew as a hail a taxi.

When I got home my head was filled with so many thoughts, at one point I thought of entering the security camera in the store for footages of the last time she came, maybe I could find one that's clear enough, but I brushed the thought away, first because I'll have to explain to Matthew how I got a hold of it, and because my conscience has been eating me alive for lying to about my identity I didn't want to build more lies.

The whole week went by the same, no show of my mother, it seemed to me like she just wanted to come to my life and shake it then disappear, or maybe she knew I was looking for her, no I doubt that, there's no way she would know about that. Closing the week tired and in disappointment I decided that I was going to use the weekend to go grocery shopping.

With my list in hand I pushed my cart as I checked the things that were left for me to buy, milk, egg, vegetables and bla bla bla, I was so focused on scanning the shelves for my favorite spaghetti brand that I didn't notice someone in front of me until I hit the person with my cart.

"Oh my God! am so sorry, it's my fault, I wasn't looking," I said to the person as she still had her head bent picking the things that fell from her hand,......"let me help you with that," I bent down to help her pick the things I made her drop, but as she raised her head to tell me it was okay, I froze, but quickly recovered, covering it as seeing a customer from my shop.

"Oh hi dear, we meet again,"she said as she still had most of the things gathered in her hand like one would hold a child, seeing some were dropping she threw them in her cart.

"Am Marissa Morgan," she said as she brought her hand forward for me to shake, so she changed her name,..... "Jenny Houston," I said as I took her hand, letting go of her hand I gave her a smile as I turned to look at my list again to see what was left, as I looked at the list, it was just few items that needed to be bought, they could wait, right now I needed to take her picture without her notice.

She took a hold of her cart to continue  and was about to make her way past me, but I stopped her,

"Excuse me please," I said as an idea dropped in my head,  she stopped to look at me,......."I don't usually do this, I mean being unprofessional with my customers, but who said you can't have a relationship outside the store with your customer, so uhm I was just wondering if we could exchange contacts, I could always let you know when we have new arrivals," I said as I waited patiently to hear her response.

If she gives me her number it would be easy, I would be able to get into any social media account she has and hopefully find a picture and even if she doesn't have any pictures, I could always call her for coffee or something, yes, that would do.

"Oh, that's fine," she replied as brought her hand, asking for my phone. I handed the phone to her as I quietly watch as she input her number, when she was done, she handed me back my phone as I dialed her number to confirm it. Her phone rang somewhere in her purse as she brought it out while I gave a smile saying "now we both have each others contact."

We said our goodbyes as we promised to keep in touch.

During our little interaction I tried as hard as I could to read each of her every move, her reaction and I felt like she surely doesn't know who I am, and even if she did, it didn't affect her a bit, while I on one hand was feeling like I was standing with a ghost.

As she left, I quickly paid for the things I got, forgetting about the remaining items on my list, I'll have to get them another time as I couldn't concentrate, my mind was somewhere else.

Immediately I got home and was safely in the walls of my apartment, I quickly dropped the things I got on the kitchen counter and went to sit on my couch, I took out my phone and began my search for her, I checked if that was her WhatsApp number and luckily it was, but the picture wasn't of her, it was a picture which read "we live life once."

Which means I have to look her up on other accounts, especially now that I have her name and phone number.

Maybe we can find out what mother dearest is up to.
