Chapter XXXI

Siesylt Andreana Georgianne Griffiths' POV

MATAPOS ANG madramang tagpo na iyon, umalis din kaagad si Daddy dahil may kailangan pa siyang gawin. Pero bago siya umalis, sinabi niya sa akin na kahit anong gudto kong gawin sa mga hinaharap ay nalaya kong magagawa. His reason? He said because I was the only princess of the Griffiths. I can have everything if I want it.

Na-overwhelm naman ako. I always thought that na if ever magiging masama ang trato nila sa sakin dito ay agad akong tatakas. But with how the current situation is, tingin ko hindi naman nila ako gagawan ng masama. Especially, my father and my two brothers. Ang sobrang attentive nila sa akin.

Gaya na lang ng kanina, I thought Daddy will scold me ask me to make amends to the children I used a spell with, pero hindi naman pala. Sinabihan lang ako kung bakit hindi ko nalang kaagad sinabi na ako ay anak ng Grand Duke.

Napangiti nalang ako. Ganito pala ang feeling ng may ama? Na may amang maglalambing sayo at sasabihin na okay lang ang lahat. The warm feeling almost took over me. It felt like my heart can explode any moment now.

"Princess? What made you so happy?"

Tanong ni Irisia. Kakapasok niya lang at hindi niya pa alam ang mga sinabi sa akin ni Daddy.

"Daddy said I can get everything that I want, I jusy need to say it." I smiled while saying those.

Maybe it was because I was in a child's body, my happiness seemed to be shallow.

Irisia smiled and went beside me. Naka-upo pa rin ako sa single sitter couch. Irisia squatted and looked at me dearly.

"So, what do our lovely little princess want now?"

Napa-isip naman ako sa sinabi niya. Ano nga ba ang gusto ko?

The image of a cake suddenly surfaced in my mind.

"Chocolate cake!"

Bigla namang nawala ang ngiti sa labi ni Irisia. My smile dropped after I saw her expression.

"No chocolate cake?"

Ginawa kong ka-awa-awa ang mukha para makita niya kung gaano ko kagustong kunain nun. Ilang linggo ko nang gustong kumain ng chocolate cake, kaso bawal.

I saw Irisia's eyes trembled. She was clearly contemplating on whether to say yes.

Mukhang kulang pa. I pouted. "No?"

Pinikit muna siya ng mariin bago sumagot.

"Fine. But only one slice."

"Yes!"

Third Person's POV

At the Grand Duke's study.

"GRAND DUKE, here is the list of gifts from the guests. With the exception of the Imperial Family, every gift have been checked."

The Grand Duke nodded at his secretary and read the list. After a while, he frowned.

The secretary felt cold sweat running down his back. He had done everything carefully and poured his all to inspect the gifts. Now, the Grand Duke is frowning. What did he did wrong?

"Why is the gift from the Grand Duchess not checked?"

The secretary suddenly felt like a bucket of cold water was poured on his head. He had deliberately left the gift from the Grand Duchess untouched because he was payed to do so. Even though he knew what the Grand Duke feel about his wife.

The marital affairs of the Grand Duke and Grand Duchess was not a closed secret. Everyone in the estate knew how angry the Duke was on his wife. The couple have not seen each other ever since the Grand Duke's return.
