Chapter 4: A strong woman

The next morning, Lini gets up and stretches, she draws the curtains looking outside. The weather is very nice today, a bright sun with a few white clouds all over the sky. She is in a very good mood because she is going to take her plane to go home and finally see her daughter who she missed so much. She took her shower and got dressed before packing her bags and leaving the hotel room.

She heading for the elevator with her pink suitcases, she presses the button for the ground floor. She can't wait to see her daughter again, she doesn't like being away from her but she has to if she wants her daughter to have a comfortable life. She got out of the elevator but faced Taker who was waiting for the elevator. Him again?! Lini thought. He glares at her, wondering why he still sees her. Lini wasn't even intimidated by his presence, he might be tall, dark and dangerous, but she's not afraid of him... well, she's trying to make him believe...

"You hurry or not, I don't have your time!" Said Taker with an intimidating voice, in a hurry. She comes down the elevator with her dark pink luggage, Taker waits impatiently for her to come down with her filthy luggage. There's nothing gloomy out there, already one thing that Taker will have to change about her. And Vince wants her in my Ministry? thought Taker.

As soon as Lini is down, Taker finally gets on the elevator, presses the button for the floor he wants, and looks at Lini one last time to tell her one last thing before the doors close.

"You better be ready and be on time tonight!" He warned her, staring at her before the elevator doors closed. Hearing his menacing voice again made Lini shiver but decided to ignore his disturbing comments. She heads for the parking lot, puts her suitcases in the trunk before leaving for the airport. This man is always in a bad mood..Lini thought

As soon as Lini finally returns home after a long drive, she is greeted by her daughter waiting for her by the door. They give each other a huge hug, they missed each other a lot. Lini also sees Will walking out of the house, standing in the doorway smiling, arms crossed. Will is a tall man with blue eyes and brown hair, but recently decided to go blonde with a very well-groomed beard. He was Josh's best friend, he loved Josh like his brother. Since Josh was murdered, Lini and Will have become very close and he has decided to help Lini with daily chores and take care of Agnes. Unlike his friend Josh, Will hasn't had the life he wanted, he works in a garage, lives in a seedy apartment and hasn't found love. He promised that he would take care of Lini and Agnes.

Lini carries Agnes in her arms while Will walks towards them to carry Lini's suitcases. She puts Lini on the sofa, holding her cuddly toy in her arms.

"You were good with Uncle Will?" She asked her daughter who looks at her with the love of a daughter she has for her mother. Will sits on the couch next to them. "She was very wise." Said Will smiling.

"I made drawings, look!"

Lini looks at Agnès' drawings, it's drawings of her in character and some drawings of her favorite wrestler, Undertaker. Agnès is a big fan of Taker, she dreams of her mom brings her with her to see him in person. Agnès has blue eyes like her father but looks like her mother. Agnes was 3 years old when her daddy was killed, when Agnes asked about her daddy, Lini told her that her daddy is in heaven, a kingdom in the sky, where all the nice people go but don't come back; She knows that as she grows up, Agnès will understand what this means.

"Did you see Undy yesterday?" She asked her mom. Undy... that's the nickname Agnès gives to Taker. "Yes, he was there...and I'll be working with him soon." She said to her daughter who had a big smile on her face hearing that.

"Yippee!!!" Agnes exclaimed. She jumps for joy while Lini smiles seeing that her daughter is very happy with this news. Will sits down on the couch after warming some hot tea for Lini who thanks him. Agnes approaches him, puts her small hands on Will's knees.

"Did you hear Uncle Will? Mom works with Undy!!" She said to Will too happy. "Oh that's great!" Will looks at Lini who seems to be smiling but can tell it's a sad smile. He frowns and leans towards Agnès who still displays a big smile on her angelic face.

"Agnès, how about you draw a picture of us in your room?"

Agnès rushes up the stairs to go to her room to draw while Will turns to Lini who is no longer smiling. He takes her hand to comfort her, wondering what is going on.

"What is this ?" Said Will.

"I...I know Agnes is happy with this news but...this news can be a nightmare for me..." Lini said with tears in her eyes with a trembling voice. Will frowned wondering what a nightmare could be. "How so ?"

Lini's tears stream down her cheeks as she remembers what Taker said. She looks at Will's blue eyes which are comforting. "Basically, it was an idea from my boss who wanted me to go to Taker's Ministry since my character corresponded, I was happy with this idea both for Agnès and for me, they could help me to improve but..."

Lini stopped speaking for a short moment to try to calm herself down; Will's hands rubbing on Lini's hands trying to calm her down.

"But he didn't agree until I fought back when he said I'm weak to be in his group...because I'm a woman..."

Will looks at her, disgusted at what she just said, he cups her face in his hands, gently wipes her tears away with his thumb, looking at her green eyes.

"You are a strong woman, Lini. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise." Said Will reassuring Lini.

Lini is the strongest woman Will has ever known. She had a difficult life; violent parents, panic attacks she could have, the death of her husband but she always got up. When she's in character, sometimes no stress goes to her head. It's that Will is proud, that she can make sense of things. "So he gave me an appointment three times a week where they train..I'm scared Will.." She said crying, Will takes her in his arms, rubbing her back gently. "Show him you're not weak because you're not. You're Lini McClay aka Alvara Ciadra."
