Sound effect: *Bzzzzt* *Bzzzzt* (Juliuz's phone lights up, showing that Callie is calling him.)

Juliuz: Hm? (He notices it.)

Juliuz: Hello?

Callie: [On phone] Juliuz! Tell me you know where Kiku is! (Juliuz picks up his phone.)

Juliuz: What? No, I haven't seen her all day. Isn't she with you? Did something happen?

Callie: [On phone] She ran off earlier. Kiku did that vanishing trick again about an hour or two ago, but Marie and I, we still can't find her.

Juliuz: Why did she disappear like that? She's never gone for more than a minute. (Juliuz appears concerned. Emerald notices.)

Callie: I think Marie scared her. Please, Juliuz, call me if you hear anything about her. Okay? It's starting to get dark, and we know that Kiku's not in the building. I'm really worried about her.

Juliuz: Okay, I will. We'll try looking for her. (He talks.)

Emerald: What was all that about?

Juliuz: Just... work.

Emerald: Can't ya tell me?

Juliuz: I'll tell you some other time. (Juliuz gets up. Emerald glances at him while on her phone.)

Sound effect: tap tap tap tap

Emerald: Hmph. (She goes back to online chatting.)

Emerald: [text] My brother is so weird with this new job. He keeps hiding stuff from me now.

Texter: Yeah, my sister does the same. It has to be the WORST thing ever!

Emerald: There's no way she's as secretive as Juliuz is now. But what should I do about it?

Texter: GRIND the information out!

Emerald: Lol (Emerald texts with an online friend. Despite texting "Lol", she looks bored and disappointed.)

Texter: [texted] No, but seriously, Em&Em. You gotta assert yourself. It doesn't matter if he says you shouldn't know something or not. You should trust him.

Emerald: Hold on. This guy my brother brought home is watching me. It's kinda creepy.

Kiyoshi: . . . (Emerald glances over at Kiyoshi, weirded out. Kiyoshi is beside Emerald, saying something, but he's too quiet to understand.)

Emerald: What? I can't hear you.

Kiyoshi: [very quiet] What's Juliuz doing? (She puts her phone down and looks up at Kiyoshi.)

Emerald: You expect me to know? He's been all caught up with you today, I would think you would know. (She crosses her arms and looks away.)

Kiyoshi: [very quiet] Why are you upset?

Emerald: Huh?

Kiyoshi: [very quiet] Why are you upset? (He moves his position.)

Emerald: You wouldn't get it. You're literally a day old.

Kiyoshi: [very quiet] But I already have lots of knowledge in my mind. I may not talk like you do or have as much experience with the world, but I can try to help. I want to help. (They talk.)

(Emerald looks up at him like she's considering it.)

Emerald: Nevermind. (Emerald leaves to Kiyoshi's surprise.)

Sound effect: Bzzzt...

Juliuz: Another call? Hey, it's from Marina! (Kiyoshi looks up. Echo walks in.)
