The Next Morning...
Callie: *hums* (Callie, fully dressed to go somewhere, is making breakfast.)
Callie: Oh! Good morning! You don't look like you slept good.
Marie: Hnn... (Callie looks back at Marie, who's coming out of her room all groggy. Kiku is beside her, but she looks energized.)
Marie: Kiku wanted to sleep next to me. And she was snoring. Plus, she woke me up practically yelling "Momrie!" in my face. (Marie walks in, Kiku follows her.)
Marie: I'm starting to think that she's going to end up as my shadow.
Kiku: Im'ma shadoooow! (Marie sits down, and Kiku, of course, sits next to her eagerly.)
Callie: Oh, hey, you're talking more! Are you starting to get used to your voice?
Kiku: Uh-huh!
Callie: I'll bet the knowledge Nariko programmed into you already gave you a bunch of words to say. You've had plenty of thoughts going through your head a while now, haven't you? You just haven't learned how to really form the words with your mouth.
Kiku: Ye! (Callie turns around.)
Callie: Can you try to say my name?
Kiku: C-Ca-Cawwwww-
Callie: Try to put your tongue on your teeth when you try to say the two l's. (They talk.)
Kiku: Cuhee.
Callie: Try on the BACK of your teeth. (Kiku puts her tongue on the front of her teeth.)
Kiku: C- Callie!
Callie: You've got it! Good job!
Kiku: Hahaha! Callie!
Callie: Could you try saying Marie's name now? (Callie and Kiku are happy, and Marie is too tired to join in.)
Kiku: Momrie!
Marie: [Thought] Here we go again.
Callie: Don't close your mouth when you pronounce the "r." (They talk.)
Kiku: Muh-rie?
Callie: There you go! (Kiku cocks her head to the side.)
Kiku: Marie? (She glances over at Marie.)
(Marie turns.)
Marie: Not bad, kid. (Kiku is really happy, and Marie does her best to smile tiredly.)
(Throughout the day, Kiku follows Marie around. She starts by following her around the penthouse and repeating her name.)
Kiku: Chair, wall, window, plant, fan, words, words, words! (She follows Marie through another section of the penthouse, pointing at stuff. Marie's starting to get a bit annoyed.)
Kiku: I like... sea slug bunny. *gasp* A sentence! I say a sentence! (Kiku still follows her out on a pavilion with her sea slug bunny. Marie gets even more annoyed.)
Kiku: I name it... D-Dom-Domino! Ye! Dom-i-no! (Marie starts getting really annoyed.)
Kiku: You like talkin', Muh-rie? You are q-q-quiet! Not talking! (Kiku follows Marie back into the house. Marie looks like she's about to explode.)
Kiku: Muh-
Marie: Shut up, shut up, shut up! (Marie loses her cool.)
Marie: All the silence yesterday was better than this! Now you're driving me INSANE! You haven't stopped talking since 7:45! That's way too early! (She whirls around, angry, scaring Kiku.)
