Indy stood on the rooftop of an apartment building adjacent to the address Marion had given him. Staring out the window of the top story on the building across from him was a child.

Indy wiped the mist from the binoculars' lenses and sharpened the focus... It couldn't be Annie. He knew that. She was too young to be his daughter.

He raised the binoculars again. A smile crossed his face. Laurel. His granddaughter.

She had Annie's features, blond hair, her mother's heart shaped face, big blue curious eyes.  She opened the window, despite the cold, and leaned out into the deserted street.

Indy noticed a bruise on her thin wrist. "Dawson," he growled. "How could you do that? She's tiny... You're supposed to protect kids! Especially if you're their dad!"
