bisexual means sexually attracted not exclusively to people of one particular gender; attracted to two or more genders. Bisexual is an umbrella term for other sexualities like pan, omni, poly and so on because all of the examples above are sexualities that include liking more than one gender.
For example: if a boy likes girls and boys he would be generally considered bisexual but he could also like people that are gender fluid or non-binary. He could either choose to define himself as maybe omni or pan or he could just call himself bi. But if you are bisexual you can still like trans people and gender fluid people and so on.
