~Black Light~

•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••

The ceiling of the musty and abandoned building drips, each sound amplified with the eerie quietness.

The stench is minimal, but you can taste the mustiness of the broken building on your tongue. I walk slowly, treading with caution so my heavy-duty black combat boots don't make a sound.
He shouldn't know I'm here, I think to myself as I scan the hallways for the man.

I hear the muffled sounds and heavy steps of the target and I creep up behind him.

Unfortunately, he was too paranoid and caught me. His face contorts into a disgusted emotion and starts yelling.

"You can't catch me!", he says acting tough but fed up.
"I just did."
"You can't kill me!", his laugh was an indication that he's mentally insane.

Just let me get over this already.
I pull out my gun strapped to my waist and aim at him. His eyes widen in realization and he attempts to make a run for it, failing miserably.

Bang.
Bang.
Bang.

His body falls to the floor, blood spilling everywhere. I can tell without even inspecting that he is alive, but barely.

Let's see what the Boss wants to do, I'll leave it to him.

I pick up the small radio strapped on my waist to alert backup.

With a mischievous smile I turn my radio on. "Clean up at isle three."

I turn around with a swift move of my feet as my boots hitting the ground echo around me.

I make my way back to headquarters, to inform boss I did the job.

No, I didn't just shoot a man for no reason, that man was smuggling drugs and handing them to young teens that overdose. My job as an agent is to complete my assigned case with excellence.

Oh, did I mention I'm an agent? I work for Black Light. You name it, it's top-secret but doesn't compare us to the FBI.

If people knew what I do, the first thing coming out of their mouth would be "So, the FBI?"
No.
Not like the FBI.

I enter our headquarters through a broken down tunnel entry instead of fussing with the main corridors. Heading inside I head to my bag, where I whip out my water bottle.

"Tejasswi, Boss wants you", another agent says turning just as quickly as she came.

I walk through the protected passageways and scan my ID card to enter even 10 feet from the Boss. Protection is high when protecting your leader.

Boss opens the door before I enter, indicating at his heightened hearing senses from working as a spy for many years.

"Tejasswi, come in", his low booming voice says.

I enter his spacious office that's lit by a cozy fire and sit down in front of his desk.

He takes a seat in his chair and folds his hands together. His hands have two bands that signify his place and commitment to Black Light.
