"Iansa the traitor queen? What a funny headline." I scoffed and turned to the next page. Another royal news. "Ophelia's absence cause havoc in the Court of Magic. People can't go a day without queen, can they?"

"Iansa, when are you leaving for the mountains?" Pam asks as she pours me a cup of tea. "And are you sure you don't want me to join? I can help."

"No Pam, you can't come with me. They already have bounty hunters set out for me. You'll also end up becoming a target."

"I don't get why people won't listen to your end of the story! Not even your sister!" She grumbled in annoyance. She's so adorable when she's angry.

"That is why you were my right hand woman, not her." I took a sip of my tea. It has such a calming effect on my soul. "People often find putting the blame on others easier than realising the truth."

Pam banged her head lightly on the table. "Doesn't make me amy less angry." She grumbled. She's like a grumpy black cat. How adorable. "To me, you are the one and only Queen of Nirvana."

I couldn't help but chuckle. "I think I'm more of a vagabond now." She smiled. Silence engulfed us as neither of us knew what to speak of any further. We were both aware of the forthcoming danger. It was a matter of life and death.

"When are you leaving for the Élvian Mountains?" I remained calm and took one last sip of my tea. I know what I'm going to say will make her have a heart attack.

"I'm not going to the Élvian mountains. I'm going to the Himalayas in India." She took her sweet time to register my words. Her reaction wasn't all that surprising to me. After all, I was planning on going to the human realm all by myself.

However, I had expected her to scold me, to tell me not to go. It was a rather huge shock for me when I saw the defeated look on her face. It made my heart ache.

"I can't stop you, can I?" Going to the human realm alone means death. That's because the farther we are from Saint Satvika's Temple, the weaker we grow. And if I grow weak, the people who want my head on a silver platter would not miss this opportunity.

I can handle about ten people even in my weakened state. But there are far more people than that who want me dead.

I need to grow stronger. I am not the strongest witch in Nirvana. The priests at the Temple are just as strong as I am, if not more. They are self-claimed pacifists who pretend to follow Saint Satvika.

Saint Satvika was the creator of magic. And the people working at the temple have tainted her name.

"I want to come with you!" Pam held my hands tightly and began to sob. "Please let me."

"Pam." This time, my voice was stern. She knew that now it was not her best friend talking, it was her queen. "I order you to stay put. Save your strength for the future."

Her crying didn't stop. Call me heartless, but I can't have her die at the hands of those dirty bastards at the temple.

Her strength will also be a huge asset in the future. Pam is a knight. She is the leader of the Valkyries. She's more important than she gives herself credit for.

"Pamelia, I need you to keep my sister safe while I am away." She eyes filled with anger the moment I started to talk of Ophelia. It may be justified, but it brings me such sadness to think of what we've become. The three of us used to be so close. I was a perfect ruler, Pam was my trustworthy right hand woman and my sister was working hard to become a holy knight. She had no greed for the throne.

For fifteen years, I ruled peacefully, until that one fateful day. I will never forget it.

"I know you're not very keen on it. But don't think of it as a favor that I'm asking. It as an order from your queen."

Pam laughed, but in her laughter was pain and grief. "You can me so cruel sometimes, My Queen. Do you have any idea how painful it is for me, the Royal knight to see someone as prideful as you to walk around, hiding herself?"

She slammed her fists on the table. She looked up and her teary eyes met with mine. I pretended to be unfazed by it, but my heart felt heavy.

"You are Iansa Delìtera, the Queen of Nirvana. I chose you to be my queen, Iansa! But you keep throwing yourself into fire over and over again and you expect me to sit still and watch?"

"Pamelia, I know I ask too much of you," I walked over to her and took her hands in mine. "But you know you're the only one I can trust right now."

She looked down again, trembling. "You said it yourself, Pam. I am the Queen of Nirvana. I swore on my mother's blood that i would protect the people that she left behind. So you can call me selfish and the world can call me a traitor, but i am only fulfilling my duty."

I let go of her hands and kneel down on the ground in front of her. "Please find it in your heart to forgive me, Pam." I put my head on her knees. "You're all I have left."

My voice wavered. I would break if I stayed any longer. "Fool." She mumbled as she patted my head lightly. I felt her tears drop on my shoulders. "You're such a fool, my queen."

The two of us laughed lightly. "Go, do what you need to do." I looked up at her and my heart filled with joy when I saw the prideful smile on her face. "Leave Nirvana and the Queen reagent to me. I'll make sure both are safe."

"I knew I could count on you!"

"Yeah yeah. But why exactly are you going there?"

I smirk formed on my lips. "To find the real followers of Saint Satvika."
