Sweet Joseph was always happy, always joyful, never seemed to be sad, didn't seem to have any problems, always ready to help, but some days the work he helped on was difficult, the townspeople knew that Joseph was multitalented and full of mystery, so usually he'd be the man they'd go to. The pressure of helping the town put Joseph under a lot of stress so to take a break joseph sat by a tree and relaxed, sweet oak tree beside me, tell me, what am i doing wrong He spoke to the lonely tree on a hill everyone keeps asking me for help on things,

he said everything joseph, the tree spoke, joseph though for a moment and felt this was all in his head, nobody likes you they just need you for things they can not do themselves, the tree said look at you! So scrawny and thin the tree taunted, why sit here and complain to me about your pathetic life? The tree said to Joseph taunting him for the stress he was under. Stop it, you're hurting my feelings! The man said, stop it, you're hurting my feelings, the tree mocked, laughing at Joseph's sadness. The people of the town use me for paper and you're here complaining about stress! The tree laughed more You're the weakest man ever the tree insulted the man had enough stop it you, you mocking tree he yelled face pink with embarrassment a mocking tree the tree said thinking for a second Thats the stupidest name i've ever heard the tree spoke again weak and dumb, the tree sneered oh why you, the man thought for a second I'll show you I'm not weak! He yelled stomping away yeah sure i'll be here waiting the tree mocked again

Days passed and Joseph had not returned. The tree was confused and a little proud and began boasting Ha I told you weak! The tree bragged more, that was until the sound of grass, the tree said Joseph had come back, oh why if it isn't the weakly the tree chuckled come back for more the tree said. That wasn't what joseph was here for, he pulled out an ax to which scared the tree joseph swung the ax against the tree with so much force that the ground rumbled a bit Ow stop that, I have been here for two decades the tree pleaded Joseph ignored the tree and kept swinging.

And to this day The Mocking Tree sits in Joseph's cottage living room as a table, silent, not so mocking anymore
