I froze, absolutely mortified.

Johnny froze, I'm sure questioning what his next move would be.

The only person who didn't freeze in the moment was Austin.

"Did you not hear me? What the fuck are you doing, Johnny?" Austin looked completely enraged, walking toward the both of us.

Johnny stood in front of me, scooting me behind him in a way so he was almost blocking me with his body. Neither of us said anything at first, still partly in shock. Oh, fuck.

I saw Austin laugh, shaking his head in disbelief. "What the fuck is this?" He waved his hand over in our general direction.

It was clear Austin had been drinking. Where did he come from? Did Johnny know he was in town? Did he see us? Shit, of course he did... how much did he see?

"Austin, you should leave now." Johnny said in a voice so low, it almost scared me.

"Oh, is that a threat?" Austin sneered, breaking his gaze from me and glaring at his brother.

"So what if it is? You have no business being here. Lucy doesn't owe you anything. Go home."

Austin scoffed out loud. "No business... I live here, you fucking idiot! Mom invited me home for Thanksgiving. Not like you would know, considering you never talk to her. Dude, why am I even..." Austin was shaking his head, his hands clenched. "I never thought it could be true when one of my buddies texted me earlier today and told me he saw the two of you together. All over each other. I guess I owe him an apology, huh? What the fuck is going on here?" He repeated through clenched teeth.
