The Phoenix and the Fairy -Poem Sam writes about Arianna and Phoenix

In a village in the midst of war
Five souls had swore
To protect one another during this fight
With no potential end in sight

Out of the ashes came one kindred soul
A broken nomad with no home
Out of the ashes the Phoenix had rose
Making friends out of foes

With every breath he drew
A spark was ignited
A brightness, a warmth, a ray of light
He was loved by all, hated by few
But there was one person that very few knew
That could ignite his flame, make it a new
A weakness some would say, but he always said
She was the last name inside his head
When he awoke, when he went to bed
And as he stood, feeling weary
There she stood, his beautiful fairy

One faithful night a ceasefire sounded
But with it came a revelation that astounded
The Phoenix and his fire receded
As the Fairy had retreated
With one last look in his direction
The Phoenix collapsed in devastation.

Years passed and his love returned
Beaten, bruised and scars had been earned
But with her arrival the Phoenix soared
And the Fairy with all her grace
A beautiful smile lit her face

Watching, plotting from afar
Was a serpent with permanent scars
He became enchanted by the Fairys light
But she flew off with her lover into the night

Upon return, the serpent held her close
Told her words she needed to hear most
In the new dawn, she saw a dying light
Of her first love as he prepared for flight

Tragedy struck and the Fairy grew still
The Phoenixs light faded at his will
The four souls since came home
To find their fallen under a stone
Cold, dead and six feet under
They all turned to the Phoenix in wonder

Would he bring the light they all needed
But alas, the Phoenix had been defeated
Fire lost, spark snuffed out
He wandered about
Nowhere to go
No place to call home
The Phoenix fell apart
The light has gone out

In the cold wake
The Fairy realized what was at stake
Her lover was gone, a shell in his place
She could no longer see the light that lit his face
She broke a heart or two
So she could help her love start anew

The fairy underestimated herself in it all
As she had been the light all along
Fire burning in her eyes
A spark igniting upon hearing the cries
She carried the weight of it all
Trying to find her lover through her quiet call

The Phoenix again rose from the ashes
Standing along the shore as the waves crashed
He met the eyes of the Fairy
A thousand years and she'd finally come to understand
She always had the upper hand
She was the light in the day, the hope in the night
That fire that ignited the Pheonjx when he took flight.
And in the moment of their warm embrace
A spark grew and shone on his face
He held her close until the light went out
Then they flew into the sky, shining brighter than the sun

On the battlefield stood them all
Five soldiers in the aftermath of war
Not knowing what was in store
But every day they'd see the light
It would even shine if only for a second in the night
They would see the world wasnt all the scary
As long as they had the Phoenix and the Fairy
