"The Mind Flayer, it built this monster in Hawkins to stop El, to kill her and pave a way into our world."

"And it almost did."

"Wait," Dallas interrupts the Wheeler siblings, stepping forward a little, arms crossed, "I thought we killed it, wasn't that what that whole thing was last year?"

Mike shrugs slightly, "Well it's back, and it's here."

"That was just one tiny piece of it."

"How big is this thing?" Hopper asks, he's sat on the bench beside Joyce, El in his arms as Joyce finishes wrapping up her leg. Dallas looks away.

Jonathan is the one who answers this time, "It's big. Thirty feet at least."

Lucas nods in agreement, "Yeah. It sorta destroyed your cabin. Sorry."

"Okay," Steve sighs looking around at everyone, "So just to be clear, this big fleshy spider thing that hurt El, it's some kind of giant weapon."

"Yes."

"But instead of, like, screws and metal, the mind flayer made its weapon with melted people." Dallas turns her nose up in disgust.

Nancy nods at him watching his raised brows and slightly little face of pain as his bruised skin moves, "Yes, exactly."

"Yeah, okay," He shrugs his shoulders a little, "I- Yeah, I'm just making sure."

"Are we sure?" Joyce looks up at him before looking around at everyone else, "This thing is still out there, still alive?"

"El beat the shit out of it, but, yeah, it's still alive." Max says from beside Steve.

Will finally speaks up from where he is sitting on the fountain across from his mother, "But if we close the gate again."

"We cut the brain off from the body."

"And kill it." Lucas nods before looking up and going back on himself, "Theoretically."

"What about the Russians?" Dallas asks.

"Russians?" Joyce looks up at her as she asks.

Dallas nods, she jabs a thumb at Steve's face, ignoring the fact that her nose is still broken and there's still blood coating her clothes and face.

"Yeah, Robin cracked their super secret code and then we got the shit beat out of us."

Joyce looks across at Jim, and they have a conversation with their eyes as if remembering something that happened to them.

"Yoo-hoo!"

They all turn to watch Murray as he walks through the mall towards them, shaking some papers in his hands, "Yoo-hoo!"
