But months after that fateful night, things begin to get strange again. People presumed dead show up completely unscathed, doors that have been closed for months reopen, new friends unlock old secrets, and people start acting very differently than they usually would. The one thing anyone knows for sure? Something isn't right, and Hawkins has been running from the inevitable for too long. But are they ready to do what it takes to end the town curse? Or are they just catalysts to set in motion the end of everything they've ever known? The Byers come down to Hawkins for Christmas and El reveals that she's been having reoccurring nightmares. But something is telling everyone that: these aren't just nightmares.

When Will Byers went missing, and Mike Wheeler hid a girl in his basement, the only word the girl ("Eleven") said was Chiara. Or 'Munson', in some cases. However, when storms strike and power lines are knocked down, an entire neighborhood can be left without electricity for days. Chiara Munson was a powerline.

Joyce suspected Hopper wouldn't be the same when she walked through the cell door to see him for the first time in four months... something was wrong. It was his eyes, and yet... Joyce and Hopper are dealing with the trauma Hopper suffered after his stay in Russia. A story that takes place after his rescue from Russia, albeit with some flashbacks.
