Chapter 21: Olivia.

Start from the beginning

"I never thought about it..but probably not. I don't exactly want to take the easy route while others have to work hard to get into his company" I explained, everything I was saying was true. It definitely wouldn't be fair for everyone else because I'm definitely not qualified for a position there.

He paused at my answer "How considerate of you.." he says, but more to himself.

We walked into a elevator, he clicked the button for floor 16, which is probably the highest floor.

"So what kind of job are you interested in?"

"Well I've always been interested in fashion, so maybe a fashion designer. Or even an influencer, but I don't think that would be very convenient for my anxiety and adhd" I explained.

He grabbed my hand, intertwining out fingers as he places a light kiss on it "I think you're capable of doing anything you put your mind to."

Before I had time to gush over his word the elevator opened and he walked out of the door, I followed close behind him.

We entered a nice looking office that had windows lining the walls on each side, the walls was a dark wood, which seemed to be a common theme throughout the building.

"wow" I mumbled quietly to myself.

His office was very put together.

He chuckled softly "Well, you're welcome to sit down. I'll get us some coffee."

I nodded, although most coffee isn't my favorite.

He quietly sat down at his desk, grabbing the phone and putting it to his ear after tapping some buttons.

"Can you bring up two coffees? thank you" he says before hanging up.

I watched as he went through some paperwork that was sat on his desk, which was very organized and neat by the way.

I noticed he had a picture on his desk of a mature looking couple. The woman was beautiful with long black hair, and man looked a lot like Killian and his brothers.

I assumed the people in the picture were his parents. You can definitely tell who he got his looks from..

I get told I look a lot like my mother, which makes sense because I look nothing like father.

I wonder what it would be like if my mother was still alive.. she died when I was about four so I barely remember her.

The sound of the elevator ringing dragged me out of my thoughts, making me look up at the door.

My breathing hitched in my throat as I saw the familiar blonde from the party.

they're just friends Niara don't worry..

If I remember correctly her name is Olivia.. She's his secretary I think.

"Hey Mr. Donovan" she says with a bright smile on her face. He eyes wandered to me, her smile falling a bit but she quickly smiled again.

"I don't think I've met you.. I'm Olivia" she says as she sets the coffee on the desk and holds her hand out for me to shake.

"Ah yes.. I'm Niara" I say, politely shaking her hand.

Killian stands up, fixing his jacket "This is the daughter of Mr. Valentine"

Olivia gasped, putting her hand to her mouth "Oh my goodness, I would have never guessed! you look nothing like your father."

"So I'm told.." I carried off with a awkward laugh.

I stood up since everyone else was.

I admired Olivia as she chatted with Killian. She really was pretty..

She was wearing a black pencil skirt that tightly clung to her curves and a white dress shirt that was tucked into the skirt.

"Well, I'll let you two be.." she says before looking at me "It was nice meeting you, I've always wondered what the daughter of a powerful man like that would be like." she smiles with a small laugh.

"It was nice meeting you too" I say with a small smile.

She soon left after waving goodbye.

Killian sighed "That woman sure knows how to talk" he mumbled to himself as he sat back down.

I giggled a bit as he handed me the coffee.

"I thought maybe Nora would be the one bringing them up, she's a lot quieter. You would like her" he says before taking a sip of his coffee.

"Maybe I've seen her at one of the dinner parties?" I question.

"Parties aren't really her thing so she never attends them" he says while typing something on his laptop.

I nodded in understanding, sometimes going to all these parties gets tiring. But sadly it would be frowned upon if I don't attend at least the ones my father holds.

They haven't been too bad lately, I think while glancing at Killian.

"I'm just gonna finish up some paperwork and then I'll take you home." he says and I nod.
