" something is really fishy, huh?" said Burton to himself walking to and fro.

The doubt of something happening without his notice is eating Burton.

" I must go, verify the situation "  said Burton taking his whip in hands.

Payal is alone in home as her family gone to temple to watch classical dance conducted at temple.

She is lighting lamps and her mind is occupied with infinite thoughts, soon her hem got lit due to the lamp, placed near door step.

Her nose got hit with the smell of cloth burning and her eyes became big with fear seeing her duppata on fire.

" help" Payal started to yell at top of her voice.

She is unable to do anything out of fear and tense, her mind is not working.

Her duppata is burning fastly, but she is saved as someone pulled her duppata from her.

" stay away, you may hurt, my lady" shouted Burton.

Payal is shocked by the happenings, while Burton is trying to extinguish fire.

After his work done, Burton came and cupped Payal's face asking "are you okay, did you hurt"

Payal didn't uttered a word, Burton shook her to bring her into senses.

" my lady talk to me" said Burton.

Payal got into her senses and find herself only with blouse and skirt.
While Burton is talking with her something which she is not listening.

She covered herself with her arms and started to cry.

" why are you crying, you are safe" said Burton not understanding why she is crying.

But his gaze fell on her body and he recollected saving her by pulling her duppata.
She collapsed down like that crying for being half naked in front of a man.

Burton turned his head away, and apologized to her.
Payal's family came and find their daughter and Burton, they completely misunderstood the situation.

They thought that Burton misbehaved with their daughter.

Payal's mom ran inside and brought a cloth and covered Payal asap.

While Payal's father eyed Burton angrily and tried to attack Burton with his hands.
Burton stepped back and escaped his attack.

" how dare you" shouted Burton and raised his whip to slash Payal's father.

" nooo" shrieked Payal.

Burton, down his whip seeing Payal.

" I need a talk with you" said Burton looking at Payal's father.

Scene shifts:

Payal's mother took her inside and slapped her and threw her to the ground.

Burton Questioned Payal's father about his land.

" I mean..we decided to sold the farm, as my elder daughter's is  getting married to you sir, as per our tradition we can't send our daughter with empty hands to her in laws.
We have only farm so I decided to sell it for my daughter" said Payal's father covering up her entire fear of getting caught.

Burton thought for a while,  observing him keenly to find if he is lying.
Burton trusted him.

" take Care my lady" said Burton audible to Payal.
