insert hanayama kaoru, a senior at inazuma prep. the daughter of a successful politician and businesswoman, she was born with a silver spoon in her mouth, biting down on it and never letting go. she often used her riches to her advantage, getting what she wanted when she wanted it. kaoru has only worked for one thing in her entire seventeen years of living: being student council secretary. so why, just why is she being forced to resign? over something so petty as well! the sound of jingling of keys neared the front door. today was friday, it was told to kaoru that her dearest parents would be back home from a business trip. she stayed in her bed, listening to music to try and soothe her aching heart. after all, being student council secretary was the only thing that mattered to her.

"kaoru! come downstairs!"

sluggishly walking down the stairs, kaoru greeted her parents

"my my, kaoru! what's the matter?" her mother said in false sweetness

"it... its nothing"

"kaoru. what is wrong."

a grumbling voice left kaoru's father's lips. he never liked not getting straight answers. perhaps thats where she got her stubbornness from

"we already know of your fault" he continued

"so if you know, why are you asking?"

"how did it happen."

"we paid so much for that brat's parents to keep their mouths shut" her father sighed into his palm, muttering and mumbling about a twenty-seven million dollar settlement

"so tell us..."

kaoru's mother and father began to take steps towards her. kaoru began to take small steps backward, feeling intimidated by her parents once again. leaning down and looking her in her eyes, her mother said

"how did they find out."

"you're almost there itto! ...you've almost got it!"

"alright! hit me with another one boss!"

"what's the square root of sixteen?"

"eight."

an intense studying session was going on. itto apparently had an exam coming up soon and though he doesn't usually study, he had a plan. a very good one.

"how did you enter high school?" y/n sighed, pulling papers out of her bag

"because im smart, duh"

setting the papers down on the table and taking out a few, y/n passed them over to itto

"what's this boss?"

"worksheets"

"ohhh so i answer the questions... and then you check them?"

"yes exactly!" she smiled

"hmph! this is no match for arataki itto! bring it on!"

itto began reading the problems and answering—attempting—to answer them. in the corner of his eyes, he saw her reading a book. he didn't notice it but he started to stare. the way the light hit her, illuminating her face and the pages before her, was stunning. itto examined her, taking in everything, wishing this moment wouldn't end. in contrast, y/n could feel his crimson eyes on her, silent and calculating. she hated it, despised it. she wanted the moment to end. still looking down at her book she spoke.

"quit staring will you?"

"hu–huh?"

"do you need anything? are the problems too hard?" she smirked

"wha–what?! of course not! i was just thinking..."

lifting her head up and closing her book, she left her seat and walked around the table, taking a seat next to itto.

"what's on your mind then?"

"if i pass this test... say yes to my request" he said softly, a tone of voice she's never heard before

"an eighty or higher!"

"e–eighty?! thats pushing it a bit, boss!"

"thats what studying is for, stupid!"

y/n lightly punched itto's arm and snatched the papers from in front of him, scanning them

"okay, you got two questions wrong..."

"aw man" itto frowned

"let's go over them"

y/n started to explain what went wrong with the first question but was interrupted by a knock at the door. it was swiftly opened.

"l/n! the stud–"

"am i... am i interrupting something?" the young lady asked, shocked to find the rumors true

"not at all! what were you saying before?"

"oh! the student council needs you!"

"why?" her voice becoming more hostile

"well... i dont know! they asked me to come get you!"

"... alright then" y/n sighed. starting to walk out of the door, she remembered her disciple. calling his name and getting his attention, she asked

"what's the square root of sixteen"

"four?" he guessed, not completely sure

"attaboy!" she cheered

"i'll be right back! do those worksheets while im gone!" y/n whispered, pointing at the blank worksheets on one of the desks.

"yes ma'am!" itto boasted and went to work

y/n softly smiled, gazing at him just a bit.

"are you ready to go, l/n?"

"hm? oh! yeah..."

maybe sara was right, maybe i should loosen up a bit...
