like a weed that you can't wait to dig up
or a tree whose roots have cracked your patio
that you just can't wait to cut down
lately i've felt like more wasp than bee
like the mouse that you can't wait to trap
or the fly that's been buzzing about your house
that you can't wait to swat at
perhaps these are accurate
maybe i really am a pest that you can't wait to kill
maybe i really am an inconvenience
maybe that is why you don't want me around
maybe that is why you hate me now
