Long ago Goldstein Kingdom is experiencing scarcity of food. To lessen a small number of people they created a tradition where a tribute chosen from each districts will kill each other in a form of entertainment.The arena that they use is the same isolated island created by our kingdom and changes its setting every year which we named Matter.
Each district will have to offer one man or woman at the age of eighteen to twenty-five to fight to death until only one winner is declared. If a district fails to have a volunteer, the escorts will have no choice but to select a random name in a pool of those people who are age qualified for the current year.
The winner of the games will have a very prosperous life. He or she will become a commander of the same team unit of soldiers and later on become a general if replaced of a winner from the same district.
This pageant is known as the Royal Games. However, there is also what we call the Ultimatum - a grand Royal Games which is very special because it differs from the ordinary annual one. It only occurs when a prince is turning to twelve or a princess is turning to eighteen.
Today, even though our kingdom is flourished and at its fullest, we still continue this tradition not just for entertainment but it is what makes our kingdom strong and produce its own commanders and generals at its finest.
