I am a young boy and I go to a large day care facility in my city, we have a wide range of ages for children from infant all the way up to 16. Last year, we had a new girl come in. She had long brown hair, wore a lot of dresses, skirts and occasionally tights. She was 12 at the time, her parents didn't want to leave her home alone, apparently she wore nappies and she didn't know how to change her nappies. When asked why she was still wearing one, the parents said because she wont potty train, just refuses, so she would rather wear a nappy and use that and be changed like a toddler all day. So, like the other toddlers, she was put on a 2 hour changing schedule. She would play with the other toddlers like she was one of them. A few weeks after she started coming to day care, she turned 13, but still had no interest in potty training. She took naps, used a pacifier, and even tried to drink from baby bottles whenever she could. The girl just turned 14 a few weeks ago, she is still put in nappies full time, and still sneaks off to a corner to squat down and fill her nappies up, she never likes to get changed, she prefers to be stinky than clean.
