i'm very unfamiliar with egyptian gods and stuff so all of the information about them is from google. please correct me if any of that information is wrong so i can fix it!
As per request, Sphinx is a transformation Quirk based on Egyptian gods.
When you 'transform' into a god (aka activate a section of your Quirk) you also develop some of their features. For example, if you were to transform into Ra, primarily known as the god of sun, your appearance would change to match or at least resemble his. Ra is often depicted with the head of a falcon so your features would somewhat change to match that.
You know that one moment in Howl's Moving Castle where Howl is half-transformed? This is what I'm talking about:

I imagine that that's the type of transformation you'd go through if you 'transformed' into Ra (I'm talking about the feathers on the sides of his face and his hair also turning into feathers). Along with your nose and mouth merging into a beak.
You would undergo similar physical transformations if you 'transformed' into other gods.
Now, when you 'transform' into a god you also develop some of their abilities. If you were to transform into Bastet, the goddess of many things (protection, cats, perfume/ointments, fertility, pregnancy, children, music, the arts and warfare) you could create a shield to protect nearby citizens when you're fighting a villain, talk to cats, etc.
Being able to 'transform' into Egyptian gods obviously makes you very OP and gives you lots of ultimate move possibilities (seeing as a single god often rules over more then one thing).
Here's a small portion of the possible ultimate moves: • 'Rays of Ra' - allows you to basically develop a light manipulation Quirk. • 'Lullaby of Bestet' - since Bestet is the goddess of music, transforming into her gives you an amazing singing voice and the ability to put anyone to sleep with a single lullaby. • 'Anger of Set' - Set is the god of chaos, violence, deserts and storms so if you were to transform into him and get really angry things are certainly not going to be looking good for whoever you're fighting. • 'Tell the truth' - Maat is the goddess or the personification of truth, justice and the cosmic balance so transforming into her would basically allow you to be a living lie detector. • And so many more. Honestly, I could go on and on...
