That basement has the guns and even fighting planes from the Second World War but the elves people didn't bring these things out to research but kept them there, maybe they did not have a need to modernize their civilization.
I spent time in Yura's house when I and my sis were still staying in the village to learn about Englis and magic but I could not use magic for some reason. About my sis, she said she did not need to learn, which made me feel very odd.

"Okay, okay!" - John suddenly stood up, he even bowed toward my sis as if she was his superior, why did John obey my sis so much?
John walked toward me and then confused, I didn't know what did my sis mean to ask him to help me, maybe John was wondering like me too.
"What should I do for the help, Hatano?" - John asked my sis when he was tapping his head
"Make yourself...as a metal plate...on her back..." Eh! Sis! You want to break my ribs or what!
